Richards, Gaborik, Nash, Callahan, and maybe Doan? Damn.....

CLB failed so much in this trade.

Ppl who proposed Raymond, Ballard, and Maholtra for Nash were pretty correct I guess?

not even close

Dubinsky > Malhotra
Anisimov > Raymond
Erixon holds more value than Ballard
Rangers 1st = Canucks 1st

Maybe something like
Booth, Schroeder, Tanev, and a 1st would be a closer match up

Gillis was on the 1040 this afternoon, quote:

Gillis says they had some early discussions re Nash: "What Columbus wanted from us would have destroyed our team." #Canucks
O cmon. I don't think losing Booth, Ballard, Raymond and a 1st would "destroy" our team :troll:

But in all seriousness, you would have to think Howson wanted Kesler++

OGCStrike 07-23-2012 03:04 PM

^ i see what u did there :ilied:

Raymond, Ballard, 1st = the CDC special

highfive 07-23-2012 03:27 PM

hahaha the CDC special.

Yeah, people were all tweeting to team 1040 that raymond malhotra and ballard for nash.

Even so...CLB got fleeced. I honestly believe the 1st round pick would end up more points than the other players.

On Canucks news, apparently Kassian lost some weight.

Nike+ Training Drill Challenge - Zack Kassian Lunge Jump - YouTube

Gillis said today the kassian is in unreal shape and expects him to be the power forward player that the team has been missing

sonick 07-23-2012 03:31 PM

lol Hope Solo beat Kassian:

Also :notbad:

Definitely agree. The 2013 draft is supposedly the deepest draft since 2003, and Columbus has 3 first rounders next year.

kwy 07-23-2012 03:36 PM

Fuck Kassian, until he proves himself he still a fucking AHL plug

jeedee 07-23-2012 03:39 PM

lol he's already dominated in the AHL. 26 points in 30 games last year. He has nothing else to prove there.

This is just like Hodgson all over again. People were all calling him a bust till the Boston slapshot goal.

How can Kassian prove himself if he was playing 4 minutes a game? Hodgson barely made the 4th line 2 years ago, trained a full offseason [like what Kassian is doing right now] and it did wonders for Hodgson.

Give Kassian time.

kwy 07-23-2012 03:41 PM

Dominating in the AHL doesn't matter. Until he can translate that success to the NHL, he's a plug.

sonick 07-23-2012 03:41 PM

Except I hope Kassian steam-rolls Marchand with a thunderous, open-ice bodycheck.

...You do realize power forwards take longer to develop right?

That's only if Columbus stops drafting Russians that doesn't want to play for them. :troll:

Hahaha Hope Solo...

Not defending him like some CDCers do, but give Kassian a break, the guy is 21. I still remember last year where once he has the puck along the boards, it was tough for the dman to push him away. I certainly hope he'll become that physical big winger we needed.

actually, i proposed Ballard, Raymond, X player, and a First rounder for Bobby Ryan

Gee.. it's not so far fetched as you clowns made it seem now that a FAR superior player in Nash goes for slightly more?

*yawn

Marchand is too much of a little shit to deserve clean hits.

highfive 07-23-2012 04:01 PM

Nash no trade clause is the kicker between Ryan and him.

To many people surprises, I think there is a market out there for Ballard and Raymond as much as we say they suck, some team will take the chances with them. $4.2 for Ballard when dman salaries are rising like this?

It's not worth sinking down to his level..if we do that, we're no better then he is, and the rest of his dirty team for that matter.

rsx 07-23-2012 04:11 PM

jason king dominated the ahl didn't he? AHL stats don't really matter until the player translates it into the NHL.

If Kassian improves his skating and hitting, everything else would fall into place. He was lost last season, getting called on penalties and he completely stopped playing the body. The coaches need to coach him.

cliffhanger33 07-23-2012 04:16 PM

I predict a breakout year for Kass

You either get the guy or you don't. Telling the whole world what your failed plan was does absolutely nothing good for the team especially when you're trying to deal lu

We live in Vancouver. If MG cant land Nash, Weber or deal Luongo the fans of Vancouver will wanna know why. If he doesnt say anything then the idiots out there (theres alot of them) will think MG aint doing shit and hes just twiddling his thumbs.

I just want him to have a breakout year to shut everyone up about how bad of a trade it was...
