Pro's and cons of buying a vehicle in Prince George

*I hope that this is the correct place to post this...
Given that I mainly live in Winnipeg, I know very little about places (in BC) located outside of the Lower Mainland and the Okanagan. I am currently interested in a couple of vehicles which are FS in Prince George. What would some pros and cons be of purchasing a vehicle in the northern interior? One of my major concerns is the use of road salt and length of winter season.

It would probably be in worse shape rust wise than a car from Winnipeg... I've lived in both provinces.

-rock chips on the front end and widshield
-rust
-if the person lives in town and commutes in town, the thing probably rarely warmed up before it was shut down since it takes less than 7 minutes to get from one side of town to the other

-the one pro would be that it probably has low mileage but you should keep in mind how that mileage was aquired

I don't see any pros in buying a car from up there. I used to live in PG and as previously stated, they are covered in rock chips, all have cracked windsheilds and all suffer from premature corrosion...
