Sometimes we tend to be in despair when the person we love leaves us, but the truth is, it's not our loss, but theirs, for they left the only person who couldn't give up on them.
Make the effort and take the risk..

Looks like the typical Chinese branded alarm/starters you get on Ebay. We have installed similar units with mixed (mostly negative) results. I would wait until Compustar or another quality alarm company develops their own version.
I see that site sells Compustar alarms as well! And they cost more than ours do.

What kind of negative results have you guys encountered with these types of units so far? Have the ignition starts failed to work properly or is the alarm/remote start that fails to work properly?
Look carefully at that remote and the operation of it. I'll wager its based on older (roughly) three-four year old Compustar architecture. They had the proximity based arm and disarm and with simple protocol changes a push button starter utilizing the negative starter trigger input this could be achieved.
The biggest negative I could see to this system is the remote battery dying every week due to the proximity function (the remote is constantly transmitting) leaving you screwed to start your car without having a key as a backup.

if you lost your car key, you gotta go home and get the spare key
if your battery on the remote ran out, gotta go home get the spare remote
but if you carry a charging cable you can charge it if your battery ran out (but I can see this happening a lot more than rarely loses your key)
altho Toyota has the push start engine starter technology, if your remote ran out of battery, just put the remote against the start button, it will temp charge the remote and you are able to start your car
"if you lost your car key, you gotta go home and get the spare key
if your battery on the remote ran out, gotta go home get the spare remote"
Except there is no more key tumbler by the looks of it unless this is just a stick on button that goes over the tumbler but I doubt that as the tumbler would need to be removed to disable the steering wheel lock.
Also if your in the middle of BFN how you gonna get home for your spare remote. My point is I doubt this system is as unreliable as some might suggest but I will say it is very unpractical and will lead to future problems.
Push button starters are great but there has to be some sort of backup plan or you will be calling a tow truck.

been contemplating on this for a while. look halfway down the page, at the second bullet after the picture of the "fob" diagram, it shows a "bypass transponder card" in case the fob runs out of battery or you lose it. it looks like you can just place the backup card in your wallet or something. pretty decent price too.
Actually Compustar has a similar system called the EZ-GO you can add to your Compustar system that will disarm upon walk up, but not arm when you walk away, the RFID chip is tiny, it doesn't draw power.
