Best 6GB Data Phone deal? hey guys. currently using mobilicity and i use quite a bit of data. paying $30 a month for unlimited everything. but now i really want to go back iphone. i know ill have to pay at least double if i want 6GBs of data. but i got two problems A) is it worth it to sign a 3 yr contract for a $0 iPhone 4S?? i know contracts are stupid B) i need -6gb's of data as mentioned -unlimited text -caller ID -picture messaging i dont care about minutes as i have a work phone for that. but is it possible to get the above plan for under $60? i dont mind paying money for the phone either. what network should i go look at? thanks in advance ! |
fido maybe? or those sub-companies (koodo, virgin, etc.) |
you're not gonna be able to get a 6gb plan right off the bat. 500mb to start for $25 for almost all carriers. Maybe then you can switch to 6gb. |

My advice wait and see how the GS3 launch goes, a little birdie told me that it could be on its way back |

In Abbotsford, if you sign with wind before september and you can show them your student ID you can get free unlimited data. Hope this helps |

Maybe it's useful, maybe not. Just throwing it out there. Maybe someone else will benefit from it. Besides, Mobilicity looks like a sinking ship right now. |

How so? |
none of the carrier right now have $30 6gb plan and only the iphone 4 is $0 not the 4s. here are a few options for you Fido: sign up on a 2yr contract and use your own phone. (yes don't get a phone) no activation fee first month free on voice and pay for data + addons or get the iphone plan for 1 month so the entire thing is free. **buy out your contract cost you nothing except $12.50 deactivation fee** and you can get the iphone 5 when it comes out. Bell: get a post paid month to month again with your own phone and get 10% off the price. no contract = eligible to upgrade when iphone 5 is out. Virgin: get the minimum $20 plan and add $5bux for unlimited txt gives you unlimited txt + caller id voicemail with only 50 mins and use the flex data plan i guess. once again put it on the supertab with your own phone you can earn 10% of your bill monthly towards the iphone 5 when it comes out. voice only plan no activation fee and first month is free once again. Rogers: um nothing good from them atm so not recommended atm. all requires you to pick up an iphone 4 or 4s off craigslist for 300-350? but at least when iphone 5 comes out you only pay the upgrade price + hardware upgrade fee which will run you total of 500-600ish depending on what you get. if you get the 4 for $0 or even the 4s for $159, it'll cost you anywhere from 470-500 to buy out your contract or pay off your tab + pay another 159 +35 hardware upgrade fee when the iphone 5 becomes available. only issue is there's no 6gb right now.. i think the best u can do is fido month to month 2gb for $25 no contract |
I'm kind of in the same boat as insomniac, with Wind right now but looking to get out ASAP. My texts have not been sending nor have I been able to receive them, this happens on and off and I'm starting to get frustrated by it. I'd understand if I didn't have a signal but that isn't the case. Also have issues getting through on their 611 number and the hot line number. I'll be looking around and trying to get the best deals (thanks for the posts so far!), from the looks of it, it's going to be tough to get a decent deal right now. I used to love dealing with Rogers retention when they were a little bit more lenient with the credits that they gave out, but from what I've read, it seems like it's always a losing battle when you try and negotiate with them. Quick question: If I take over someones plan would it be possible for me to port in my Wind number or would I have to use theirs? Also still hate that plans don't come with Caller ID... |

^Ok that's perfect. I wouldn't mind paying the $25 to be able to use my phone number. I found a few good plans that people are looking to get rid of. Is there any risk of me doing this? 6GB data (tethering allowed) 200 mins peak Unlimited off-peak after 7PM and weekends Unlimited Fido to Fido 2500 text messages within Canada Call display Voicemail Only costs me $50 every month, $56 nett after tax. |
Seems alright if your okay with the minutes they give you. IMO, you mind as well wait it out since the iPhone 4S' been out since Oct 2011. At the same time, your gonna have to wait a few months since Apple just did their recent WWDC conference, its unlikely that they will release another product soon. |
My buddy just signed up for a business plan at the Telus store. Pretty good deal, i was thinking of moving my lines over to telus. $65 500mins Unlimited nights and weekend adfter 6pm Unlimited text caller id and voice mail 6GB of data Ill ask him again which store he got it from. |

both Fido and Rogers can offer this if you are successful in negotiating with retention. it breaks down to $20 for voice plan, $30 for 6gb data. |
Spoke to Rogers today, they still have 6gb @ $30 |

Rogers to Rogers 100 overage minutes every month 500 yearly overage minutes 200 picture messages for $65 taxes in every month |
