^ Makes me miss my old EL :(

Sold it for far too cheap, with too many goodies still on it. Including oem Domani fog lights.

Nice to see someone showing some proper love to this gen EL

Those are actually only the rear calipers. The front ones are even bigger...:awwyeah:

I just got the call that my Meisters S1's finally arrived from Japan.

LOUD NOISES

Akinari 05-15-2015 02:40 AM

Converting a bunch of exterior lights to LEDs. Rear signals already done with 80w amber Crees, got some VLED HP amber flanks for the side markers/signals, and brighter Cree 7.5w reverse bulbs to replace some old crappy single projector LEDs. Thinking about converting the front signals as well but the stock amber lens is still inside the housing and I'm too lazy to bake my headlights to remove them :derp:

Well it's eBay so I'd take the wattage ratings with a grain of salt :derp: however they are insanely bright though, much brighter than any of the usual LEDs and a smidge brighter than incandescents.

LP700-4 05-15-2015 10:24 AM

VLED Tritons ftw. Still nothing I've seen are brighter than those.

Yup...got them on all corners on the mazda (switchback fronts as my DRL) and you can see that chit from space. They are the only ones that still come through with direct mid day sun shining on them.

Vulgate 05-22-2015 03:41 PM

Oil.. lots of oil

Inspiration from seeing all you DIYs, especially Jackp0t, only because we have same car, lead me to buying this. 2 oil changes.
Now, I need to find a oil filter wrench cap

hud 91gt 05-23-2015 12:27 PM

First oil change Vulgar? You shouldnt need a wrench. If it's really stuck, stab it's with a screwdriver and take it off that way.

An alternative is one of those strap wrench things. Can be used to loosen a filter as well as many other things. Might as well get a do it all tool then something you may only use once.

77civic1200 05-23-2015 05:11 PM

^ Its a BMW, it uses a cartridge style filter

hud 91gt 05-23-2015 06:42 PM

Funny how you forget so fast. Sold my Bimmer 4 months ago :p but my filter house just had a large bolt on top to loosen in.

godwin 05-23-2015 06:44 PM

36MM socket from Princess Auto $12

Since you have so many small bottles get a rectangular spout.. it is less messy and you can drain your bottles completely.

haha thanks!
No one is gonna put the care on your car like you would.
It doesn't matter if the tech/shop has alot of experience that doesn't mean they will be careful with your car.
9/10 if they mess up something on your car and you dont know a lick shit about cars they will take advantage of that.

Man i was eying that sweet deal on craigslist! Congrats
And you dont need the oil filter wrench you should be able to turn it with your hands. If you cant let the car warm up and try again.
It should only be hand tight the oil filter really

Vulgate 05-24-2015 10:49 PM

Just juggling time...

Haha, no sir, not first time doing oil change; but.. it will be first time on the 135. The thing is my car is still on the BMW free maintenance but this is my 4th year expiring in Aug and the car is telling me I don't have to change oil until next summer, but by then I will not have free oil change anymore. It is stupidly long. Then seeing Jackp0t work on his car, I just pull myself together to do the oil change now. I doubt they will change the oil for free in Aug for me.

I just order a CTA cap wrench from amazon.ca, which I think is cheaper than amazon.com

What is the 36MM socket for? I read a few instructions and watched a few youtude videos, and none mentioned a 36mm socket. Is it for the N54/N55 engine?

So very true, it's stupid how a shop can mess up an easy job. Unfortunately I have to juggle how much time I have verses paying someone to do the work. Luckily summer days are much longer, giving more time to do things after kids go to bed.

Yeah, I picked up the CL deal because I was just about to pick up the oil from the states (btw, Walmart, in the States, carries the Mobil European LL-01 oil for $26/gallon only). What he offered was a very good deal, so why not. :)

My 80w Cree rear signals are surprisingly bright, can still see them in direct sunlight rather well!

And the VLED side firing LEDs for my side markers are insanely bright for how small they are as well.

Also this. Going catless :megusta: will just need to get a custom fab test pipe.
