depends where some places you could buy the whole state ;)

for those multimillion dollar places in cali etc a lot of them were selling for half the asking price (based on some magazines/shows ive seen) because of the housing situation in the states

I don't know how crazy this house is... but I was talking to a contractor and some guy spent over $100k for just hardwood floors, imported from Italy. And some crazy $50k sink? Electronic and voice commend everything....

The original house looks so cold and sterile. Furthermore, the water in & around West Van is brown, dirty & cold. Good if you have a boat, but not as good for watersports IMO.

I'd much rather have Kelowna waterfront. Yes it's further away, but the water is more usable. This home does a much better job of being contemporary but still livable:

2600 Dubbin Road, Kelowna, BC

And yes, the Montreal house on page 3 belongs to Celine Dion.

Looks cold now but once someone moves in and puts in there own stuff I think it would be better. Just imagine waking up jumping in your boat and going to a pub for lunch. There is a pub called the dinghy dock on Protection Island and it's only accessible by boat or sea plane.

Aside from the great property and location, for a "$34 million" home, the interior is not that spectacular... I'm a huge fan of minimalist designs and this one just screams tasteless.

Btw I really like where this thread is headed, so now I'm just going to post some pics of minimalist homes I personally like.

In places like these finishing is everything, there are things in some of these homes that are 8-10 years away from making it into regular homes, alot of stuff even good builders have never seen before

The next thing that will probably make its way into regular homes are inlaid mouldings, your mouldings are basically flush with your drywall and eliminates the finishing for that portion but looks great

It's exactly like fashion. A top designer makes some over the top dress for the runway that you look at and say, "who would actually wear that?" but slowly, its starts influencing lower tier producers before finally showing up in Target(like that scene in the Devil Wears Prada)

^^^ and car features in RRs and high end Benz'/bmws etc make their way down the line too
