Calvin and Hobbes

Before you C&H fans get all excited, no, this isn't me letting you all know that he's drawing comic strips again.

I've simply been reading a lot of the old collector books I got when I was a kid (I actually have the super deluxe hardcover collection set, but I'm afraid I'll get it dirty ), and just wanted to share a few of the comics I enjoy. Feel free to add your own favourites!

I got a book of them for xmas one year and I was like, "wtf?" Had never heard of Calvin and Hobbes. I started reading and it is seriously one of the most in tune gifts I ever received.

And I found that I love the snowmen comics:

There was one where he mades snowman modern art that is just hilarious, but I can't find it.

And of course, its ending...so sad.

Thats not actually the last one, thats an "internet made up" version. If I remeber right the last one was calvin on a sled with Hobbes talking about life, cant remeber what book its in though.

Edit: Aparently its not the interwebs that made it up, its from a washington post artical (?) but not a real strip.

Yeah, the last one was him and Hobbes flying down a hill on a sled.

If that was the real last strip, I would f'n cry. Calvin and Hobbes was such a great part of growing up in the late 80's/90's.

There is just something so poignant and powerful about that last strip. Its like the whole world is just out there to explore.

I collected pretty much every book he produced when I was a kid.
The're all still at my parents' place. This thread makes me want to get them and read them all again.

Was my favourite comic as a kid. I definitely made some non-traditional snowmen in my day I have the last book 'It's a Magical World' and even an old tshirt that I used to wear as a PJ top when I was still a thumb-sucker. My mom tried to toss the shirt on me so many times I had to hide it. I'll keep them forever.
