If we are not able to ask skeptical questions, to interrogate those who tell us that something is true; to be skeptical of those in authority, then we're up for grabs..
-Carl Sagan
If I were a girl, I'd be pretty hesitant to walk around the DTES late at night.
If you were a girl walking around the DTES knowing that its the shithole of vancouver then you're just dumb and ignorrant.

now thats fucked up, i am glad i am not studying at utsc anymore, which is about 5min drive away from the scene.
i still remember when the school would send us notices when there are shootings or robberies near/on campus, as well as the break-ins of residence from time to time. Now looking back at it, scarborough is a scary place to be in. It is probably safer to walk on E.Hastings alone in midnight than waiting for subway in Scarborough. I had 3 friends who got robbed at gun point while waiting for the subway, or bus late at night. We really have it easy here in vancouver, and thats why i love this place!
this kind of shit happens everyday in mexico, innocent people get beheaded and tortured for no reason at all. a little gun violence happens in canada in what is more than likely a ghetto and everybody gets bent outa shape. get real kids.
was waiting on this generic comment from someone
if we were to use the "this place/person has it worse therefore this is not news" argument for everything we would sure be one dumb fuck society
I was reinforcing the point that the DTES is dangerous. So yeah, it would be stupid to walk around that area at night. But thanks, tips..
I am friends with chicks who walk around there and here, east Cordova, all the time late at night. One of my best friends, this quiet russian girl, used to wait for the night bus on Hastings at 3 AM and she said nobody ever scared her. For the most part she said people were friendly to her!

Just heard that 2 people at the block party got in an argument and started shooting... obviously they were pussies so neither of them got hit and only those around them were injured
Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.
The shooters represent the most dangerous type of criminals... stupid ones. Take your beef somewhere private, instead of whipping out your guns and firing when there are hundreds of innocent people around.
