Allegiant Air Help

So need some help if anyone has had an issue with them before since I'm somewhat livid about a situation right now.

So I was supposed to be flying to Mesa on the 28th at 10:30am and I just found out my flight was rescheduled for Sunday at 8am with my tickets booked on April4th. So as you can tell I’m not happy what so ever, of course I’m missing out on a whole day and not only that I will have to wake up at 4am to get to the airport by time. I was supposed to go to my first MLB game as well on the sat/Sunday and now that’s out of the window.

I’m of course wondering if anyone has run into this situation before and if so what do you think I will be able to get out of them. I at least want a hotel room for sat night since I don’t want to have to worry about waking up so early and wasting my Sunday being tired but I don’t even know if that’s possible right now?

Thanks for your help
Reece

Don't hold your breath. I think somewhere in the fine print it says that flight times are subject to change, blah blah blah. I can't recall hearing of any circumstances where Allegiant went above and beyond in their customer service department.

Their customer service sucks ass. They completely smashed our luggage handle and when we went to inquire all they did was reach behind the counter and pull out a ghetto sign saying they arent responsible.

Lol rescheduled for a whole other day?

Personally I'm done with flying out of the states it's nothing but a headache, when I went to Arizona I would have paid another $300 to fly from YVR

SOL. However, if you're willing to pay, maybe another carrier? Like Alaskan Airlines or something?

Legally,I believe carriers have 72 hours to get you to your destination. Whatever happens in that 72hours, delays, etc. You just have to deal with.

Just try to relax a little, it's flying, this kinda things happens all the time.

I have a trick.

You can storm the cockpit and change your flight from dusty old Arizona to NYC. While you're in the air you can buzz the city and see a view of New York a seldom few get to see. Make sure you get a good look at that new world trade center too. That thing looks sweet.

That way you can see the Mets play a home game!

You can thank me later.

Too bad,

in the EU, there are very strict regulations stating that if the airlines fuck up, like they overbooked, screwed up scheduling, etc - they must provide compensation if they don't get you there within 6 hrs or something.

There is absolutely f*ck all you can do.

My group of friends just experienced this first hand. For our friend's stag, we went to Vegas. We flew out from Bellingham in two groups, because the second group decided it would be better to book a few weeks later. To be on the same flight as the first group, it would have costed an extra $100ea. The difference in the departure time was 2 hours, so we're like whatever, we'll leave later.

On the day of departure, we were told the flight would be delayed by 2 hrs 30 mins prior to departure. 30min prior, yet another 3 hr delay. At around 8:35pm, we were told the flight is now cancelled. Our "replacement flight" would not depart until the following day at midnight. We were only planning to stay in Veg for 2 nights, so we're like f*ck this s*it. We grabbed our stuff, and booked it to Seattle to catch the first flight via Alaska Airways at 5:15am (which btw, has amazing service.. and the flights departed 15min early, and arrived 30min earlier. They also have a policy where if your luggage doesn't show up within 15minutes of arrival, you get compensation.)

We were tired as f*ck, but we had an awesome 28 hours together for the remainder of the trip.

Here's another big F*ck you to AllegiantAir. BTW, we only got a full-refund for the airfare. No compensation, No Apology, No Travel Credit, NOTHING. My travel insurance with BCAA was pretty f*cking useless too. Because the delay/cancellation was not due in part to severe weather, and that it was the carrier's fault, we were SOL (unless the carrier refused to issue a full refund, or we had to pay extra to catch the next flight through Allegiant.) We were able to get $100 for misc expenses (mainly the gas + parking @ SeaTac).

Here are the EU Rules.

It's really long winded, so I'm not posting all the details.

Regulation 261/2004 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If they re-route you within 2 weeks of departure, there's nothing you can do though - not sure how much time the OP got.

EU rules are awesome.

Too bad we don't have the same provisions here. Traveled so much for work, got screwed over and over but got used to it. Got the company to get me an annual membership for the Maple Leaf Lounges.

This happen to me in April. They changed my flight unexpectedly, e-mailed their customer service and they issued me a full refund without any issues. You won't get anything else out of this airline and for this reason I refuse to fly with them again, I'd rather pay the $100 extra and fly out of YVR.

There are still cheap flights out of Abbotsford.

I have had that happen to me before. Flying out of Edmonton though. I just called another airline and told them my situation and asked if there is anything they can / want to do to gain my business. They were able to hook me up with a decent price so I just cancelled my original booking with Air Canada. Never know until you try.

the most you'll get is maybe free luggage when u complain at the counter and then when u email their customer service then most likely a $50 credit for your next flight with them.
