So my oil change was due and usually I would do my own oil changes, however my dad bought the lube for life package for this car. So why not, free oil changes right? I am going to leave this dealership as anonymous unless they back out on our deal or do a poor job on the repair.
Anyways usually when I drop off my vehicle, I would do a walk around inspection for damages so I know what should and shouldn't be there when I receive my car. After the oil change was done, I did another walk around inspection and notice a faint scuff mark and a hairline crack on my front bumper. Instantly it caught my eyes but I thought maybe I missed it while I was doing my pre-inspection.
Anyways I have a dash cam installed onto my car and figured it wouldn't hurt to check the video clips at home. So I watched the videos and found out while the technician was driving my car into the lot, some one had reversed into my car. I was pretty pissed that they did not mention any of this to me while i was receiving my keys. So I picked up the phone and called the service manager. He was pretty friendly and told me to bring the car in. He looked at the damage and said it is really minor but wanted to see the clip to confirm that it happened in their lot. So on to the good news: they offered to repair my bumper for me next Monday and I'm expecting the whole bumper to be repainted. I do not want a half ass job where they only repair the damaged area.
I will update this thread next Monday and let you guys know if it went smoothly or not. Also if you guys recognize this dealership, please do not post the name or location. Reason being is I have nothing against them right now as it seems like theyre doing their best to resolve this.
Some or most of you might say "it doesnt look that bad" or "thats nothing", but to me its something. Especially if the damage was not caused by me, I would not want to be paying out of my own pockets.
In this video you can see the technician in my car throwing it into reverse to avoid a collision, but unfortunately it was too late.
*UPDATE*
Dropped off the car at KINGSWAY HONDA at 9am and received a call at 4pm saying my car is ready. I went over to KINGSWAY HONDA to pick up my car around 4:45 because i did not have a ride. When i got there, i was really disappointed. They only resprayed the small area and not the whole bumper.. There was a crazy amount of over spray, poor prep with masking tape and they didnt even fix the dent!! I was expecting them to repaint the whole bumper, not just the damaged area. The service manager had already left and i could not tell him what i had to say but i am going to give him a call tomorrow.
in these "After" pictures you can still see a dent in the bumper from previous accident. colorworks only resprayed it.
^ the other civic didnt stop or pull over either :fulloffuck:

Oooh, so close. Another half second and he would have managed to avoid the hit.

If you watch till the end, the tech in my car yells "the customer needs to back out, gotta move your car". So maybe the customer was driving? But theres a sign that says "Residental and Autherized personnel only beyond this point" @ 5:12. So it could be a tech bringing it up after a wash.

I recognize the location, and sadly its not the first time something like that has happened. But at the same time i understand stuff happens, it just sucks when it happens to you. And if they send the car where i think they will, you shouldnt worry about them doing a cheap job.

not calling you a liar or anything but from the picture all i see is someone slipped a screwdriver and scratched the paint? which would have nothing to do with what happened in the clip. i'm just trying to put the two together and to me it doesn't make sense.

At least the tech made a decent effort to avoid the hit, rather than not giving any fucks

Um..why are we leaving the dealer anonymous? Sure they are fixing it now, but only because you phoned them about it! Bottom line is the dealership damaged the car and failed to tell the customer about it! IMO, someone should out the dealership. Or did I misinterpret the original post?

You'd be amazed at the types of people dealerships will hand your keys over to. 17 year old wash boys, etc. I know because I was one of them, but I always treated customer cars with respect and parked them very carefully..

i understand your theory, however it is my car and that screw was placed in there by me. Considering that i am anal about imperfections, i am always careful around my own car and i did NOT create that mark there. If i did, i would NOT blame anyone else but me.

That really sucks, but atleast they took responsibility. Just wondering, did they tell you about the damage or did you find out yourself?

Everything you said is true, but i had many good experience with that dealership in the past up until yesterday. I would blame the tech and not the dealership unless the manager knew about it.

Yup. I took my car to service last Friday in the pissing rain.
I witnessed 4 techs drove a Rav4, which appears to be a customer's car, out to lunch. Each of them came back with a fountain drink in their hands. :fulloffuck:
