Funny, I've been doing research on star worship for my class. Interesting critique on commodification and exactly what a cultural critic would say about celebrity. I only watched the first video so far, but I can tell you that the perspectives he holds are nothing new, they've been brought up in the academic literature so its not strictly a North Korean view, it just so happens to fit with their line of propaganda. The whole idea about celebrity distracting the masses from what's going on has also been said about sports.

I'll post the link to the first video since I found that the most general, and I agree with pretty much everything it says, although there's no new information or startling revelations about how much our society (largely as a result of American influence, imo) sucks.
Well, what can we do? For so long ive known north america's society has been fucked up, but for just as long i haven't been able to think of a worthy solution.
At the same time, there is no one-step solution.
While we have "issues" here, it's still a far better place to live than most countries.
And at least I can stand on a street corner and hand out pamphlets criticizing the government or bringing issues to people's attention. Or, you know, watch a hosted video about it.
Propaganda is everywhere promoting different things, thanks for pointing out the obvious, North Korea. Your leader is full of shit if he doesn't defecate.
