Went yesterday and had a great time.

It was very busy as weather was nice and it's pretty much the last long summer weekend.

Circle around a bit and ended up finding parking near some church. I refuse to pay a neighbour for their parking spot (it's illegal and it's almost comparable to an added cause for a drug addict - it gives them more reason to go on the street every PNE season to try and make the quick buck)

Went to the marketplace and saw the usual items on sale. Wanted to buy a steam mop but didn't end up buying anything.

Walk to the Star Trek Experience but it was a pretty long line up so didn't bother. Same with the Prize Home.

Eat the middle BBQ pit stand (smoke and blue) its very good way better than Memphis blues IMO. Get the Brisket its the best imo better then pulled pork and the ribs. Sides were decent too. Their baked beans had apples and raisins in it giving it quite a twist.
Got the mini donuts that was good. 2 bags for $5.00
Churro from some wiggle chip stand. Stay away from it it's a rip off
Lemonade for $3.50 from some smaller stand. Way to sour and wasn't sweet enough. I could have made better lemonade at home.
Buckeye's rootbeer was alright but nothing spectuclar.
On a side note I saw alot of ppl buying from the Shrimp Boat Stand - the food and presentation looked pretty good. Gotta try that next year.

Loved playing that 6 wheel spindle gambling game - it's addictive. The ball game where it's kinda like craps is STUPID IMO and very rigged

All in all today is the last day so make sure you go if you want to see the PNE!

Tim Budong 09-03-2012 09:06 PM

Sweepas won the market fair at the PNE. So many people holding a pair LOL

Razor Ramon HG 09-03-2012 09:08 PM

Saw you in the pig farm, but you were too far away :lol

Yeah, Sweepas looked pretty good.. was even tempted to grab two myself, but I didn't want to walk around with it, hahahaha.

went yesterday as well, had a great time with the gf!

but one thing i wanna know...anyone happen to see that game "fool the guesser"??

i know exactly what my weight is, i weight myself on a daily basis...so i figured id give this lil 17 year old kid a shot and see if he could guess it..

before i went to the pne, i was at the gym in the morning, i weighed in 187lbs.

so i give the kid the 5$...he looks me up n down, im wearing a hoodie that was zipped up so he couldnt really see my body...he says "173" i laugh...step on the scale...ive magically lost 10lbs and im now 175lbs...he wins my money... total bullshit...waiting in line for the atmosphere (its where this game was beside) i see 2 other built guys at 2 seperate times stand on the scale and the guesser guessed right yet again resulting in these 2 seperate guys looking at him and just saying "ya...no...that scales fuckin wrong dude..." total bullshit lol....i want my fuckin teddy!!!!

what i wanna know, is how do they do that??? lol

to make it more fun, there was another guess the guesser booth, went to that as well, i magically gained 5lbs cause i weighed in at 180lbs there lol

Razor Ramon HG 09-03-2012 11:07 PM

Fool the Guesser is a joke.. but least the guys working it are pretty funny.

Yodamaster 09-03-2012 11:08 PM

It's a mix of being able to identify body mass and tricky scales.

My guess is it's just that the scale is off, but he actually guessed your weight "correctly" based on that incorrect scale. I don't think there's any trick to the scale itself.

My theory is that for $10 a guess, they figure to lose most of the time, and that's why the prize is pretty small for $10. For other games, if you win with $10, you'll be walking around with the biggest stuffed animal in the park.

I watched it for just a few minutes a few nights ago, and the guy got both guesses wrong.

He guessed a guy's age as 27, but he was actually 34.

Next, he guessed a guy's weight to be 215, but the scale measured him to be 235.

But yeah... there's certainly no way for them to "cheat" if you decide to make him guess your age... so I wouldn't expect them to "cheat" if you decide to make him guess your weight.

True, true. I think it's like that every year! But yeah... it was pretty ridiculous how many people were carrying them around.

Should get sunytha aka the tranny to the booth and ask the guy to guess her gender.

speaking of which

anyone buy tickets online? I've only gotten confirmation about my purchase but no ticket #s or tickets in the mail :suspicious:

melloman 09-04-2012 10:22 AM

Fool The Guesser game's scale is off..

Me & gf won.. he tried guessing the weight of gf.. he guessed 12lbs off :lawl:

Was there yesterday too, was pretty packed between 1-3pm.. other then that I didn't find it too busy. Had tons of food which didn't sit right though. :okay: Didn't feel too well going to bed last night.

Vansterdam 09-04-2012 11:31 AM

the bbq at pne is fucken awesome

i got to try ribs from the first 3 stalls and you could tell the difference between all 3 sauces

i thought the pulled pork from the first stall was the best

brisket and ribs were good in the 2nd stall (i believe 2nd stall came in 2nd place this year for rib contest)

3rd stall also had killer rib.. i think they were the winners this year

will try 4th and 5th stalls next year

Ludepower 09-04-2012 03:54 PM

Ribs were fuking killer...but they need more side dishes...got too heavy eating all that meat

JesseBlue 09-04-2012 04:08 PM

i went to the guessing game wanting to "win" (age guess) and of course he was wrong...in the end i felt sad because:
a) for 5 bucks, i got a prize that cost cents to make
b) i have a feeling people think i'm older than i look

:(
