CNN is trying to do some educating on Sikhism just now, they had a Sikh rep answering questions and talking about the faith. The rep said there's a lot of ignorance and the host Don Lemon picked up on this and said "yes there's lots of ignorance over many faiths in America, Sikhism, Baptism, Judaism... and others" not touching on perhaps the most pertinent to the issue at hand the police are conducting a search on the shooters house now but first they're evacuating neighbours just in case |

Still, fact remains the same ppl are dead, innocent ppl and all I see here is ignorance 'Americans this', 'Americans that' - making a comment about a people based on nationality, race, religion is ignorant, that's my point here And for the guy who now has concerns with moving to Washington because of minority, race, or whatever, grow up - join in, amalgamate, join the melting pot that is America, and if you receive a bout of racism, be the bigger man, either walk away knowing you aren't ignorant (although from the sounds of comments made here, I'm not sure that applies), or be a little baby and react to it Ignorance breeds ignorance - and this thread is a breeding ground |
Definitely sad that sikhs have been getting attacked much more than anyone else post 9/11 because dumbasses think they look like terrorists. On cnn, a witness said that the shooter was dropped off in a car and there was another that got out of the car as well which means that this was definitely planned out. It could have been much worse if it was a tad bit later in the day. I wonder how muslims in the area feel as this "probably" was planned as an attack against them. As much as people are preaching education about religion and all that, it just seems that this is becoming much more common then anything else. Also, whats up with "white people" complaining about being a minority in school here? Im sure no one ever brought a gun to school and targeted "white people" because of their skin colour or religion. No need to get off topic. |

I was by far a minority in my undergrad - has nothing to do with me wanting to bring a gun to school and shoot it up, didn't bother me at all There's some really ignorant and stupid ppl making very ignorant and stupid commentson this forum |

And it's a fact that parts of America will not accept you if your skin tone isn't white no matter how hard you try to join the so called "melting pot" so are we suppose to sugarcoat that for you and say America accepts everyone? |

Have you even gone back to what you posted and realized how stupid it comes across? |

There are wrongs based on race, I get it, in the US, in Canada, in Europe, but sadly none of us here can change it by ourselves, and certainly not with ignorance against those ppl, we just have to take the high road and improve everyone We can complain, or make educated choices - someone with a turban moving to alabama is making a bad choice, not a wrong choice but a bad choice, Seattle on the other hand, I see no problems that one would incur in Vancouver, same goes for LA, Portland, new York, Chicago, etc - just don't move to Alabama and complain about it |
It should also be said, it's not just white ppl who are racist, all races can be, and are racist... And you get whackos blowing shit up (9/11, underpants bomber, Oklahoma bombing - that was a white dude, FYI) which just makes ppl more racist, bigoted, pro/anti certain religions We're fucked, human beings just hate one another, we're a horrible breed of animal (today's actions prove that, yet again) - so lets all stop crying about it and just live with others best we can, try from the ground up |
My heart goes out to the victims. "It was a very coordinated thing. It wasn't haphazard," temple member Amardeep Kaleka told CNN. Is it true that this guy talking is making a truth-er documentary against corporations and to show free energy... and his dad, who was shot, is also the founder of the temple? watch?v=PsOe_r2r2P0 watch?v=cF053paLbSY Amardeep's comments at 41:30 about the movie Blood Diamond are interesting. If you make a movie that gets to the heart of an issue you won't get funded. If you make a movie like Blood Diamond that is full of action without the proper context then you will get funded! Way to go Hollywood, you have blood on your hands too! Lastly I highly doubt in this day of age, when Muslims are shown in the media all the time, can adults make such of an identity mistake. If they were made to do the shooting by some government higher uppers, the Indian founders film then would gain attention rather then silence the project. Its a mystery for now. |
The number of "mentally ill" individuals in America is rising. http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...63777084_n.jpg |

I wrote what I felt like sharing. Just because I didn't write about the victims, doesn't mean I'm not thinking about them. I don't think anyone in this thread that knows me, would even think for a second that I'm not concerned about the victims. But thanks for trying to find a flaw in my character. Again, how does what I say or do in this thread have ANYTHING to do with this event. Comment on the event and the incident and less on how I feel about it. The reason why I stopped replying was because another member had reminded me that it's best to stay quiet and not feed you trolls who want to get reactions and take away from the actual seriousness of this event. Remind me, when is the last time you remember a terrorist or murderer attack someone at a PLACE OF WORSHIP. Not a killing in a mall, not a killin at school but a place of WORSHIP where people go to be peaceful, to pray to god and thank him for everything they have in this world...In this case, a place where acceptance is taught and where people are told to be equals amongst each other...You think I'm sitting here spitting out hate-speech? I'm the last person here to be ignorant...I'm well aware of the way the world works, the way people treat each other and have been blessed to have friends and family from all walks of life; whether it be religion, culture, ethnicity AND economical diversity. Trust me, I am not ignorant to anything and I speak nothing but the truth. That's all...enjoy trolling this thread...If I don't reply, it's not because I don't want to, it's not because you're right, it's because I wish not to make a thread that is dedicated to respect the victims and emphasize the phenomena that has taken place at this massacre. |

I hope Obama and Romney can put there political differences aside for a few hours and both go to the Sikh temple the first day it reopens. |

Im sorry what? am I understanding this correctly? You're saying the son of this temple founder perpetrated these killings to a) promote his movie and b) take over the temple? :suspicious::fulloffuck::seriously::fulloffuck: I know there have been stories in the news in the past where it turned out a congregations members were responsible for the crimes against their temple/church/shrine but it was merely vandalism... to even... im sorry WTF and what is this based on some youtube conspiracy videos? :fulloffuck::seriously::fulloffuck: |

The white people I know aren't racist, in fact white people opened up doors for me while some of my own people shut them and didn't support what I was doing so you're right, it's wrong to say all white people are racist because it's not true and it's an extremely ignorant comment. If that was the case, Canada would be all white without a single minority but unfortunately the mindset for some white Americans is completely different than white Canadian. Canada's been a centre to left country, we had a leader like Trudeau who created the idea of multiculturalism while America is a centre to right country and the only leader that really stood up for minorities was JFK. The melting pot ideology in America only stuck around on the west and east coast, it never spread outside of the coasts and that's the problem and will always be the problem. No one likes change and it's a tough pill to swallow, look at what's happen in Europe and the influx of Muslims. That been said, I do believe people who do have racist views base it on personal events and angry or want to blame someone o for their own failures in their personal lives. I really don't think you wake up one morning and start hating a particular race for no apparent reason, there's always something that happens on a personal level that triggers the hatred. |
