To be honest, your interjections in this thread have been downright insulting. This is a hate crime. The FBI has labelled this an act of domestic terrorism. Since 9/11 there have been 700 cases of hate crimes against Sikhs in the United States. To try and downplay our concerns as being racially motivated is fucking bullshit.

the shooters army buddy was interviewed by Anderson Cooper, and he said he was always a very cheerful guy but had racist views and talked about an impending holy war and initially it didn't seem like something he was serious about but after not seeing him for several years the shooters attitude had changed quite drastically which was concerning to his army buddy and he hadn't had contact with him since then

his army buddy had also said that the shooter was demoted and discharged from the military due to drinking and showing up to drills/meetings drunk

LOL, I laugh whenever I hear this. You must get this impression from watching the news and chatter that non-white ppl believe ONLY white ppl are racist! Or maybe it's a defense mechanism. I hear it a lot from white ppl who grew up further out, isolated from what happens on the ground, as if they're telling us some masterful revelation! Anyone else have this experience?

A consistent analogy would be:

Shoot up temple - bet he's white
Blow up airport - be he's muslim

9/11 - Blame all dark skinned ppl.

On a side note, I find Vancouver overall to be pretty sophisticated regarding this stuff. For example, I don't find discussing melting pot vs mosaic to be very productive because it's more of an ideological argument that has very little to do with what happens on the ground. It's a marketing message brought to you by govt more than anything, so I'm glad I don't have to hear about how one is good and the other is evil, LOL. WTF.
