More information coming out.

Quote:
The suspected gunman was a former U.S. Army “psychological operations specialist,” the Pentagon said Monday.
Quote:
According to the Pentagon, Mr. Page was a qualified parachutist who received a commendation medal, five achievement medals, two good conduct medals, the National Defense Service Medal and a Humanitarian Service Medal.

But he left with the relatively junior enlisted rank of Specialist E-4.
Quote:
Mr. Page had been a member of the racist skinhead band End Apathy, based in Fayetteville, North Carolina, in 2010, said Heidi Beirich, director of the intelligence project at the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Alabama.

Mr. Page also tried to buy goods from the National Alliance, a neo-Nazi group, in 2000, she said.

/sarcasm.
I wish you had the intelligence to read, my comment was made in context

Murdering people is not an act of racism, it is a hate crime (in the case you speak of), an atrocity

My last comment here, bc I really can't stand the lack of open minds here, is that all the ppl who straight away said 'bet he's white' etc, are no better than the ignorant white trash that blame all dark skinned person for 9/11, for this, for that

It's just proving my point that all races, creeds, colours, religions are full of ignorant turds - man of whom live in Vancouver, like every other city

Such a sad world we live in

...You were making a statement in response to the "guy who is moving to Washington." He stated that events like these made him nervous about going....therefore, if you are speaking in general terms, your comment was actually made OUT of context, because the event that is being referred to in this thread IS an act of racism via hate crime.

So then what fuels a hate crime?

The second post has an eyewitness stating the shooter was a white male.

I highly suggest you take your advice and use your intelligence to re-read this thread before waxing poetic about the inherent racism here.

To be honest, your interjections in this thread have been downright insulting. This is a hate crime. The FBI has labelled this an act of domestic terrorism. Since 9/11 there have been 700 cases of hate crimes against Sikhs in the United States. To try and downplay our concerns as being racially motivated is fucking bullshit.

Now this gentleman is a true hero in purest form. A public servant putting his life on the line to perform that service. As a former armed forces member the attacker could never be considered a hero for service to his country for he never served for the citizens who make up this great American nation. Officer Brian Murphy you are the ideal that those who aspire to serve the greater good of the nation should strive for and hope to grow beyond. Thank you for being who you are and were meant to be.

yeah just heard that on cnn very awesome officer cnn said he had a vest on and was hit around 9X

the shooters army buddy was interviewed by Anderson Cooper, and he said he was always a very cheerful guy but had racist views and talked about an impending holy war and initially it didn't seem like something he was serious about but after not seeing him for several years the shooters attitude had changed quite drastically which was concerning to his army buddy and he hadn't had contact with him since then

his army buddy had also said that the shooter was demoted and discharged from the military due to drinking and showing up to drills/meetings drunk

LOL, I laugh whenever I hear this. You must get this impression from watching the news and chatter that non-white ppl believe ONLY white ppl are racist! Or maybe it's a defense mechanism. I hear it a lot from white ppl who grew up further out, isolated from what happens on the ground, as if they're telling us some masterful revelation! Anyone else have this experience?

A consistent analogy would be:

Shoot up temple - bet he's white
Blow up airport - be he's muslim

Whereas you massaged it to make an emotional point:
9/11 - Blame all dark skinned ppl.

On a side note, I find Vancouver overall to be pretty sophisticated regarding this stuff. For example, I don't find discussing melting pot vs mosaic to be very productive because it's more of an ideological argument that has very little to do with what happens on the ground. It's a marketing message brought to you by govt more than anything, so I'm glad I don't have to hear about how one is good and the other is evil, LOL. WTF.

Please don't be an ignorant dick like the rest of America. There is no political bullshit to any of this. Learn the religion and its teachings. Its probably one of the most giving, caring, non-selfish religions out there (and by no means am I dogging other religions).

The Onion - the article is entirely fictional.

I must say, I was appalled that the parody news site would use such a tragic story as the basis of joke. The Onion is the democrat equivalent of Fox.

LOL thanks guys, I know it's a parody site but the idea behind it is still disgusting. A week hasn't even passed and people are already making jokes about the people who passed.
