i had a driving teacher it was $30/h i think
he also rented me his car for an hour with a fee of course, i think it was around $75 (but that included a 1 hour mock test right before we went to icbc) and he also signed me up and everything so all i had to do was show up
got around 10hrs behind the wheel
i got it on my N on the second go :/
failed the first time for doing a rolling stop during a right turn

When I had my lessons, it was $35/hour. Instructors can lend you your car + a warmup lesson for your road test for about $125-$150. Like everyone else here, I'd spend on getting your license first and being a better driver, and then get your car later. I didn't buy my first car til about six months after getting my N, before I got my car I was just taking public transit/borrowing parents' car/dealing with it

On another note, leave your batman material at the door and post appropriately. We can be extremely helpful if you want us to be, unless you post stupid shit like that

logical fallacy

Why would getting an idea of what a good first car may be while getting my license be a bad thing?

(604) 889-9900. Ask for Pat. Was $30/hr when I took lessons from him. You can work out a price to rent his car for the day of the test. I passed my class 7 the first try. He'll let you know when you're ready to take it. My only infraction was not scanning a railway crossing.. lol.

Ah, I stand corrected. Must of remembered wrong, now that I think more carefully I did take my N test with my family's Civic. My bad

If the OP was more serious I think he would of gotten a lot more help from people on revscene. Anyways, @OP if you want I can give you a few lessons/tips for the road test sometimes. I'm not the best driver and I won't let you drive my car lol, but you can sit in the passenger seat and I can take you around some of the roads they make you drive around in Burnaby/Richmond for the road test and tell you what to expect when you take the N test. There are a number of things that you're supposed to do during the test that you normally don't really do during everyday driving (even though you're supposed to, lol). Just an offer, PM me if you want and we can set up a time

1. buy a used "best bang for buck" car with your 2k budget
2. learn on it with a friend over 25 that has a class 5.
3. pass your road test
4. sell used car in a few months.
