There's a huge amount of anti-American sentiment on this site and this city, so much so that I worry that one time while riding the Skytrain someone will see a lone backpack and say "We're not paranoid Americans. That's nothing to worry about"
An easily preventable attack by someone with mental issues or an axe to grind against society ignored by those who laugh at this kind of diligence will result in real deaths one day.
I'm not telling anyone to wear a tinfoil hat or use plastic sheeting to make their homes airtight because of biological attacks, but some idiot dropping his backpack in a public place IS something to pay attention to.

I agree. Our lords commit atrocities all over the world, so it should be taken serious that some nutter could do our innocent public harm in return... or it could be some whacked out idiot too who wants to make name for him/her self in history.
I've long been suspicious of Asian teenagers with spiky blond dyed hair wearing North Face parkas in Metrotown in the middle of July. I should have made the connection and called years ago.
Lesson of the day: We must be diligent... everyone is a potential terrorist.. it is our duty as citizens to spy on fellow citizens and report any and all suspicious activity to the "authorities." It's not just those brown people that commit acts of terrorism anymore, now everyone is a threat... including children and old grannies. REMAIN ALERT!

now people are going to be suspicious of suspicious people whom are suspicious because they find the people staring at them to be suspicious 911 operators prepare your bodies
and DHS is going to say its some plot to tie up 911 lines and distract police so they'll increase the "threat level" which will increase suspicions
