unless you're somehow sure you wont carry anything heavy, you should get a bag with comfortable padded straps for class. a rucksack is a bad idea.

and yeah filson is made for hunters and fishermen, but their stuff is pretty nice.
i have the medium duffle and its the nicest piece of luggage i own and will probably outlive me.

I endorse Mission Workshop bags. Hella tough, understated, everything is water resistant (damned near waterproof), and fits all my shit. If they made camera bags, I would've bought one already. I use this one all the time

I got mr crayon a lululemon backpack last year and he seems to like it. It looks more compact than it really is, lightweight, and waterproof. Granted the waterproof material can only be fit for a light drizzle...there is an attachable waterproof plastic raincover that you can pull over your bag for the snow/heavy rain etc. (He goes to bcit if this is of any relevance for those who asked about which school peeps go to)

the wet coast pack | men's bags | lululemon athletica

key features

•DWR finish (that's durable water repellent) to help protect your gear
•adjustable nylon straps to hold your yoga mat
•stowable raincover fits over your bag and your mat
•padded pocket with a water resistant zipper fits a 17"/43cm laptop
•adjustable padded shoulder straps
•padded electronics pockets on the front to keep your tunes safe
•side pockets with magnetic closures and space for your water bottle/traveller's mug
•zippered wet/dry pocket for sweaty gear
•interior pockets for toiletries, cards, cords, keys, phone and all your gear
•stowable hip belt to help take the weight off your shoulders

tech specs

•designed for: to-and-from
•fabrics: ripstop
•properties: water-resistant
•organisation: interior pocketing system, exterior pockets, laptop/tablet sleeve, yoga mat storage
•dimension: 20" high x 11.5" wide x 7.5" deep

To those who are wondering, this is mr crayon

And the westcoast pack was a good deal imo. $108+tax for a durable and not so flashy (yet stylish) bag. I will admit though, another reason on why I bought it was because I think he looks hot when he's wearing lulu gear. Sweaters/vests/pants/ the works. Not all at once though!! Definitely no tracksuits! LOL!

OH and one more thing, they seem to sell out fast as I had to call all over DT/Kits location only to find one left at Metrotown. Maybe they have more now since it's school season but something to think about!

I settled on this MEC Darwin 2 Daypack - Mountain Equipment Co-op. Free Shipping Available

It doesn't hold THAT much, but it's enough and comfortable. Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

Suggestions?
ASOS | ASOS Leather Satchel with Contrast Colour at ASOS

I bought this a few weeks ago. They have a few others as well that are cheaper.

not hating but asos has some of the cheapest quality designer stuff you can find.

bought sneakers there once and the fit was just weird, also the leather was not nice, although i expected that as they only cost $40. super uncomfortable and just wore em once and tossed em.
