oh really? errr... i pre-ordered off of green man gaming, how do i go about getting the download then?
their site seems to be a bit lagged so its hard for me to navigate through the site right now

is anyone actually able to reliably join other peoples games? Me and a friend got in a game together right at 11pm last night, but he had to reload the game and we could never get in the same game again always just times out while connecting. Lots of posts on the forums with the same issue... I'm assuming its a server issue?

I think it is server issue.. only some people can join my games

Borderlands, like many other online multiplayer games, requires that you forward a few ports if you plan on hosting a game. This basically means that if you want people to join your game you need to open up a path in your internet connection for them to get there, otherwise you'll be left to loot all by your lonesome.

But don't worry! This is a pretty easy thing to do!

First, determine whether or not these ports are already open
There are some cases where port forwarding is unnecessary, such as when you connect directly to a single port cable or DSL modem.

To test for this just click each of the following links, it will tell you if the port is open or not. [this section is broken, it'll say closed even if they're open right now, I'll fix later]

If the ports were closed, we need to determine what kind of router you're using
You'll need to find the model name of the router or router/modem combo you're using. This shouldn't be too hard. Usually, the internet comes in through your modem (box connecting to the wall either through phone line or cable line) and is then passed to a router which sorts and distributes your internet connection to the computers in your house. Go find the latter, turn it over, and look for a brand name and some kind of model number (Ex.: Linksys wrt54g, D-link DI-804). Once you have that go to this link and locate your model:

Follow the instructions provided. The ports you need to open are:

7777 (TCP/UDP)
28900 (TCP)
27900 (UDP)
28910 (TCP)
28902 - not in the readme, but opening this port helped alot of people


Once you're done click each port to test if it's really forwarded. Bear in mind that sometimes it takes a minute for the router settings to apply (occasionally you'll even need to reset it before the settings take effect).

Forgot to mention!!!: You'll need to either add an exception to the windows firewall or disable it altogether. I disabled mine; it's all but useless. I'll write up a guide when I'm done with class.

There you have it! Now people can join your games.

Games pretty damn good, same formula as the first game, with a few extra tad bits. Graphics are of course the same, not much you can improve on with cel-shading

FS pre orders are bogus, they always over-sell and not have enough for everyone, they always seem to fuck up the popular games too. The non popular ones, they order 300 when theres only 20 people pre-ordering, i.e: Prototype, Stilettos, UFC 2010.

Unfortunately for NCIX, the stock is at the mercy of the suppliers, they decide how much we get, which is usually not much if its collectors edition .

I called Futureshop, first CSR said they haven't even sent it yet. Asked to speak to her supervisor. Supervisor said it was sent on the 17th via Canada Post from their BC warehouse. She wouldn't give me a tracking number either.

You should be able to check your order status online, which includes the tracking number.

my copies came the day of release. if you look at your order online, there will be a tracking number and link to canada post's page. i wasn't home at the time and so the postman left a notice saying my package would be ready the following day after 1pm. after checking the tracking status to say it wasn't delivered yet, i went to the post office to see if i could pick up - luckily it was ready for me.

the only time i had an issue with the online ordering system was when i lost my credit card and had it cancelled last year. i put in the new credit card information, but it didn't work out... because my game never came, despite many calls to futureshop's customer service dept. i went to the store that day to purchase it in person and they still honored their online price in store (i ordered 3 games last summer @ $40 each). i cancelled the online order in the end.

edit: if i was in your shoes, i'd just purchase a copy in store and return the mailed copy upon arrival.

Possible coop fix?

Quit Borderlands 2 and Steam (if opened).
Open Steam again.
Connect to friends from the Steam menu NOT the Borderlands one (click name in steam friend's list, then join game)
