Here's some info about the new CPU/GPU..
"Apple’s new A6 chip runs two ARM Cortex A15 cores, quad-core GPU" "the previous-generation A5 chip that powers the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 is manufactured on Samsung’s 45-nanometer process, as is the A5X chip found inside the iPad 3. Both chips use ARM’s Cortex-A9 CPU core (the A4 chip from the original iPad and the iPhone 5 is based on ARM’s Cortex-A8 CPU blueprints).
ARM says that the Cortex A15 core is 40 percent faster than its Cortex-A9 counterpart.
Switching to Samsung’s 32-nanometer process and other optimizations have made possible low-power performance and a 22 percent smaller package. A good example of optimizations would be the FastCore technology that Cupertino got hold of by acquiring chip experts Intrinsity."
"Regarding the GPU, Ananad speculates that the 2x gains “could be had through a move to 4 PowerVR SGX543 cores, up from 2 in the iPhone 4S”."

*Edit*: Nevermind.. seems like some people are sanding down the SIM card with sandpaper to make it thinner... and it works
Bad news for ChatR/Speak Out users
Nano SIM card is 15% thinner than Micro SIM.. therefore cutting down the size doesn't work.

We'll have to wait until someone gets their hands on a phone to get benchmarks and see what cores are actually inside. The A15 seems plausible but I'm wondering about the graphics cores. I'm not so sure it's the same quad core as in the iPad 3 considering Apple's claims of a smaller die and reduced battery consumption. The PowerVR 6 Series isn't supposed to be available yet, but then again, if Apple beat everyone with an A15 then it's not much of a stretch for them to also be first with a 6 Series.
For people interested in manufacturing techniques, watch this video. Skip to 4:40 to get past all the "fluff". Johhny Ive on iPhone 5
I find the matching part the most interesting (warning, technical geek content ahead).
Ley's say you have part 'A' coming down an assembly line. It's supposed to be 50mm long, but due to manufacturing tolerances they can be anywhere from 49-51mm. We also have part 'B' coming down another assembly line. It's supposed to be 25mm long, but they can also vary from 24-26mm. These two parts fit into a housing 'C'. Housing 'C' is made to a very high tolerance and is exactly 75.00mm long.
The problem occurs when we try to take parts 'A' and 'B' and fit them into the housing 'C'. If part 'A' was 49mm and part 'B' was 24mm then their total length is 73mm. If we put these parts into our 75mm housing there's going to be a noticeable gap. If part 'A' was 51mm and part 'B' was 26mm, then their length is now 77mm, and they won't fit our 75mm housing.
The solution is to match the parts. Part 'A' is measured as it comes down the assembly line and turns out to be 49.87mm long. In order to get an overall length of 75mm to fit our housing, we need to find a part 'B' that's 25.13mm long (49.87 + 25.13 = 75.00). So we measure all the 'A' and 'B' parts and start to find matching pairs that add up to 75mm. In this way you can take a bunch of parts that aren't very exact in size and get them to fit perfectly.
This is what's happening in the video when they talk about the camera taking pictures of the housing and finding the best inlay (out of 725 choices) to use.
This technique has been done for ages in various forms of manufacturing. What's interesting is that modern manufacturing techniques are very precise. You don't have parts that vary significantly in size from one to the next making parts matching unnecessary in most products. The fact they are doing it (and Ive's mentioning of microns when measuring parts) shows the precision going into making the iPhone 5. It will interesting to handle one in person and see if this comes across in how it feels.

Did they precision match parts with the 30 pin adapter too or is it 30 bucks cause Apple really needs the money that bad...seriously something that should have came packaged with the iPhone 5 is being charged at a ridiculous price just to bend the people over that much more with their 700 dollar phone. Guess they want to milk it as much as they can till the knockoffs from china show up for 50 cents a piece Posted via RS Mobile |

^^yeah I thought that was pretty greasy for apple to not include the adapter...but I guess u have to look at from a buisness perspective in that Apple is a biz and are tying to make money...from a consumer perspective if people dont by Apple products then Apple is out of buisness. I guess the key here is try to keep your customers happy i guess haha
