Quik park is ok at best. Cut jump line is never open. They concentrate way more in rails and other than the top jump in the quik park they are all pretty mellow. I mean its still fun butit seems last year it was like half the year before anything was properly put together. Posted via RS Mobile |

going grouse on the 14th :D |
Rode grouse tonight. They got a good chunk of new snow. I even got a pow slash:fullofwin: Looks like they could open quite a bit more soon. Gonna hit baker or whistler on sunday if it keeps dumping, maybe sledding if my friends with sleds are heading up. If not, I'll go hit seymour if they build a jump right of the bat. If not it's sliding rails at grouse again. Either way its some more riding. |
Hit up whistler today. Powder was good. Needs moar snow http://sphotos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...16888524_o.jpg |

They had a few features in the park and I think even more now that they had the 32 event saturday or sunday (cant rmb). Low clouds/a bit of fog from 9:30am till maybe noon, I left around noon, but after that it looked amazing (based on pictures), it was clear blue skies. Unfortunately I won't be able to hit up any locals till January, but if anyone is up at whistler from the 15th to 17th, pm me and we can shred some. |

So yesterday was my first time snowboarding. I went to Cypress did the bunny hill 3 times, than the Circle hill right after and then back to the bunny hill. Going to the Circle hill right away was a bad idea for me. I bailed out so many times and I was not use to the steeper slope. Any ways I think I got the hang of back side riding, just need to learn how to use my front side. Once I can easily ride comfortably with backside and front side I think I will attempt a non beginner slope again lol. Some things I learned as a beginner if anyone is thinking of trying snowboarding for the first time is: Need to buy a helmet and maybe wrist guards. Learn how to properly get off a ski left so you wont bail hard trying to get off.. lol All in all it was a fun experience for myself and I hope to continue learning how to snowboard. Thanks for reading :nyan: P.S. Does anyone recommend a better mountain to start off with, or was Cypress good enough to learn. I was thinking of sticking with grouse because it is the shortest drive. |

Couple more finals then Whistler here I come. Anyone know of any places you can park overnight in whistler? |
You might be able to park underground in one of the individually owned suite/condo places. Just talk to the people at the desk, they might charge you for parking for the night, don't necessarily tell them you are camping out though. I did that for one night before, slept in the car and used hotel lobby as a "living room." |
