This is a self-inflicted problem. If we just kept the institutionized racism that's been going on since 1867 and told these people to go pound salmon, nothing would have happened. The problem is we give them a few inches, and now they've taken a few miles. The floodgates are open.

Just that one stupid judge that looks like the second coming of a woke Karen basically threw the whole thing back at the government like "Hey, you've been sloughing this off for 10 years government, so here, they get all their land back, have fun sorting this shit out" and peaced.
It's going to get all taken back on appeal, but take forever and a lot of people are absolutely FUCKED in the meantime.

Well are you still gonna pay your mortgage and property tax if your place is now worth $0 and Mr totem pole owns it now. This is huge, what's stopping anyone from claiming Aberdeen, Oakridge as theirs. Property price collapse?

not worried (yet) just surprised how it's playing out (though I suppose I shouldn't be)

I still remember our tenant offering me to help buy appliances because he gets it tax free as a native. I was like, wow, nice guy.
