i'd go spend the 125.00 at my butcher and my green grocer. both on my block. I'd get more quality for the money, and I'd waste less of the product. those salad boxes never make it. I'd also have 90% less packaging to deal with. fuck box stores. support local. |
Nowhere beats Costco price for protein. Frankly the quality is usually much better than even these butchers that claim to be “specialty” ie. Windsor etc. I’m not buying the organic versions anymore but their organic thighs and ground beef, you won’t find better for the price imo |
how much $$ were the thighs at costco? costco is not the cheapest for meat, sure is convenient though what I usually do is find thighs on sale, 88 / buy-low / t&t, I debone them myself and also make chicken broth |

grocery store chicken - I've bought those thighs before, opened the pack and had it smell so bad it's inedible. not schleping over town to costco to return it. my local meridian farm market does us right on chicken and pork. unless you eat salad 3 times a day - you're not going to make it through that romaine and spinach before it starts to turn. I can buy it every other day on my way home and it's always fresh. my point was - if you you're going to spend the big money anyways, the benefits of spending it in your neighbourhood are high. it feels good. RE thread content. glad we locked in last year w an early renewal (spring 2021). buckle up for the ride. EDIT: my comments are based on shopping and feeding x2 people. Family of 6? ya, I get it. You need to find the savings and bulk where you can |

More power to ya Producer. I’ve been a hunter pretty much my whole life and while I immensely enjoy the sport whenever I shoot somthing it’s bordering on a feeling of dread in that now I have to gut it and cut it up etc. not because I find it gross or anything just because I find it to be a massive chore which I very much dislike lol The way prices are going though might have to go that route pretty quickly |

I'm sorry, but I don't need my beef needled. I have working teeth. |
farm to (almost) table. we're still out there doing it. my wife's family still raises about 80 head a year. it's a ton of work. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...c898fdf9_b.jpgUntitled by GhstRidr, on Flickr from a real estate perspective - man, you have to love doing this stuff. The family owned rangeland and hayfields would be worth a heck of a lot more than they'll ever make raising cattle. |

We had a family farm too that stopped farming (about 20-30 cattle) before I was even born... we had talked about trying to start something back up again but none of us were up to it, let alone moving out there... so sold it instead. Even just trying to clean it up for sale was a gargantuan amount of work let alone trying to run a place like that every day. |

We usually cube the hinds and make sausage etc. pepperoni |
Instead of onlyfans I’ll do some online RS butchery and meal costing lessons if you guys want. I’m in desperate need of some new PS4s and that Michelin price increase is wack. |

The best thing I have bought though is a vacuum sealer - my freezer is full of meal sized packs of meat. I eat healthier now as I just need some roast or grilled veg to go with the meat and I'm set for dinner versus my old diet that was heavy on carbs. |
