Dunked the GoPro into a salmon stream:

Here is a short time lapse video of the flight between LA and Tahiti.

Volvoman 01-06-2014 10:20 PM

Here is another timelapse, this one is the hotel at Bora Bora.

Vimeo only allows one HD video a week with the free account, back to youtube it is. Watch in 1080p. Ikea kitchen timer in action at the 27 sec mark!

v_tec 01-07-2014 02:55 AM

^ how did you pan for the part between 00:28 and 00:47? How does the kitchen timer turn?

So you just left your GoPro out on the desk the whole day? How did you stick the timer to the wood? 3M?

Volvoman 01-07-2014 09:06 AM

http://members.shaw.ca/volvoman/inde...s/DSC_6921.jpg

Just start the timelapse, twist the timer, and the top half will start turning. It isn't perfect tho, the weight of the GoPro sometimes causes the timer to stop turning.

I left it on the porch, no tape. The wind shook the GoPro a bit, so the footage is a bit shaky sometimes. The timelapses were about 30 minutes each, taken at 2 or 5 second intervals.

Couple more time lapses

So when Somone gets a shot like this:

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...psul5yju2h.jpg

Would this be a screen cap out of a video of a still picture caught in time lapse setting?

I have a few shots like that and I just captured a still out of a video in premiere. Then took that into LR and PS.

Did a little editing...

heisenberg 01-26-2014 09:52 PM

anyone have a problem with their gopro hero 2 ejecting the sd card on impact? i had a couple of pretty bad wipe outs on the mountain this weekend and seem to have lost the footage due to it.

Gh0stRider 01-26-2014 10:05 PM

looking to eventually upgrade from my gopro hero hd (original one). which should i consider, the hero3 black or the hero 3+ black?

artmotion 02-17-2014 08:58 PM

Made this video of my dune buggy ride in Florence, Oregon last summer.

it's not the go pro that's amazing, it's how much time you put into editing that's truly an art form. funny how 3 mins. is the perfect min.s until people lose interests and realize only you think it's still interesting.

girlfriend picked one up (Hero 3) for me on Boxing day and got it to me today as a Valentine's gift... time to take videos in tight surroundings!

Ronin 02-19-2014 06:20 PM

That means she wants the D.

And wants you to GoPro it.

Gh0stRider 02-27-2014 09:15 PM

used my hero3+ black for the first time last week in hawaii

used it snorkeling and while we were out whale watching. it's great for snorkeling but unfortunately sucks for something like whale watching where even big items (whales) out past 150+ just seem tiny, but that's ok, it's not meant to be that type of video camera

one questions i do have is what setting do you guys record in?

i was in 1080+ medium (didn't want the fisheye look) and the quality really doesn't seem that great...maybe it's just vlc?

what do you guys use to playback your videos on the computer? quicktime?

what size microSD cards do you use? i got a 64bg for mine

any other tips or tricks would be appreciated, i'm going to be travelling for a year so i want to be ready to know what settings to use in certain situations so that i don't miss capturing anything

you guys !! go pro 3+ bundle is on sale! and it's ending tonight.

https://www-ssl.futureshop.ca/order/...95072ea9baen99

The go pro seems like such a great investment while travelling!!
I really want to get it! but first I have a few questions. So if I were to get the pro selfie, wouldn't I need to throw down another 100 to get the wireless remote? (ouch). expensive!

do you guys know whether there will be another good sale like this coming any time soon? I feel like im in such a rush to make a decision because it seems like such a great deal!

edit: just found out that it comes with the wireless remote(phew)

That's pretty average. Mine with the LCD Bacpac dies in about an hour and a bit because of the LCD. Maybe get a Battery Bacpac if you want more runtime?

I picked up a gopro for the week, was gonna be a "rental" and use it for a session of hockey and the icebucket challenge(great shots btw)

However, after taking it to a BBQ last night, i've absolutely fallen in love with it

so my question is, how many of you have had experience with drones?

PHATFLIP_14 08-24-2014 05:26 PM

go pro newb here. what programs do you guys use for video editing?

thanks.
