I'm looking at flying back to NYC. Flying JetBlue out of SeaTac plus a bus shuttle down there is still MUCH less than any flight out of YVR.

FUCK YVR.

I dunno, my $80 flight to San Jose from Bellingham was pretty damn cheap. And I got food... wasn't some budget airline (Alaska) like you would get in Europe for the same price and distance.

That's good for frequent travelers. Less riffraff to wade through on the way to my flight.

Mixed feelings on Allegiant. Did a flight to Palm Springs with them in May, flight there was rlight, but the flight on the way back was fucked.

I'm not scared of flying at all, but god damn was I nervous on that flight back, the plane's engine was making some pretty fucked up noise upon gaining altittude, and the plane kept dipping up and down as if the engine was struggling. Never experienced anything like that before on a plane, and I've flown a lot.

Other thing was the cabin itself was a fucking mess, the flight previously must've had some stupid kids because there was crushed cheesies ALL OVER THE FUCKING FLOOR, they literally had us get on the flight without a quick vacuum prior to us coming on.

I'm not picky, but it just seemed pretty ghetto. I'll opt for Alaska next time.

Flying out of seatac, I'd prefer to pay up to $200 more to go YVR than have to drive to Seattle and deal with the border, it's not worth it

Would you feel the same way if you were going as a family of 3 or more?

I feel the same way as you but then someone asked me that question because he made the trek as a family of 6. He saved over $1000.

Most of you disregard that many people whom travel don't necessarily travel alone, but with a family. I know someone that went to Hawaii with a family of 4 and saved over $1000 flying from Bellingham vs. Vancouver.

Now that's significant savings and worth the border wait.

that's pretty pussy of you, i flew out of seatac to asia for 1/2 the price ($1500 direct instead of $3K w/1 stop from YVR - i was doing it at a busy time of year and relatively last minute) - 11 hr flight back, jet lag up the ying yang, drive was fine, it's the I5, pretty damn straight and plenty of lanes

if that's a 'brutal' drive after only 6 hr flight, you exemplify why vancouver drivers suck so bad

Parking is $10 a day at the main terminal parking lot and $9 at the overflow parking lot. (http://www.portofbellingham.com/index.aspx?NID=91)

When we went to EDC we got an amazing deal. $450 for flight and hotel at Vdara during one of the busiest weekends of the year.
EDC, Obama, Pacquiao fight.

Compared to $1000 flying out of YVR.

Yes, it is significantly cheaper. Flying out of Seattle is a mess. The drive is what kills it.

Depends on where you look. I think the last time I went I used Wallypark Self Park at $12 a day. That was last year though.

There are a dozen places near the airport and competition is pretty high. You can probably find online coupons or rates for extended stays.

Offtopic: I did a red eye from YVR to YYZ then YYZ to YHZ, then drove 3.5 hours to Charlottetown PEI. Last week.

Luckily I didn't hit a moose.
