smoking shouldn't be too difficult, just do it in a garage. make sure you do a good job masking. it will be even easier if you can remove those trim pieces that you want to paint.

So no prep work when painting onto straight chrome as well? Might pick up a few bottles when I head down the states in a few minutes.

+1.

I did a test run, didn't look the look so decided to peel it off but some of the plastidip got between the trim and it was a bitch cleaning it. Lucky I found a magnet business cards which I used to scrap out the leftover plastidip between the trim so removing the trim is the best way to go.

Nice, I assume you didn't remove the grilles because I read the 6 series grille is a bitch to remove. I heard the current 6 you basically have to remove the bumper to remove the grilles.

Btw, I have one half can and full can of clear plasti dip, if you're interested PM and I'll let it go for cheap.

Not my personal experience. IMO, plastidip is better than wrap job.

Like Granemo mention at the bottom, do not use pressure water to wash your plastidip vehicle.

^ dunno if you can attribute that solely to the plastidip as the guy used a gas powered pressure washer to wash it off

True that. I plasti-dip my window trims and used power washer on it, nothing happens. You just got to know how to take care of it.

Le bump, has anyone else on this forum been playing around with PlastiDip lately and would like to share their results?

Peeled off matte black dip from two of my wheels currently on the car to see how the product held up after a good 4 months from initial dip. As expected, no damages and this peels off very easy - just have to be careful with the sides of the spokes the dip is usually thinner around these areas.

I do have the newer cans of Anthracite Grey, will be dipping my new wheels I'm picking up tomorrow from Point Roberts
I will also be dipping my current setup in the Aluminium finish and handing off these wheels to one of my family members

I sprayed my whole car.

http://www.revscene.net/forums/67030...ml#post8262243

Got too over confident in how small my car was and ended up not having enough dip to achive the colour and effect I wanted. This is 6 coats with no base when what I really needed was 8 coats or 2 base and 6 coats.

Also if anyone is interested in buying dip in gallons let me know. Will be bring up a bunch of dip from the states.

How careful do you guys have to be when washing your cars with the dip on? Obviously you can't just go through a car wash like the one on terminal anymore, right?

I've had my rims dipped since last June and I have washed them by hand as well as touchless gas station carwashes. They are holding up real well. Awesome product.

About 300 but I needed more dip. got too over confident in how small the car was. total cost for dip should of been 360ish.

Nope, car washes are fine. Gone thru 2 before those pics were taken. My friends Audi has been dipped for about 5/6 months and car washes are all he uses.
