1/18 Pandem Toyota 86 V3 by Ignition Model

The only LDH with Pandem V3 Kit and GT Wing made by Ignition Model. This model is badged as a Scion...

Some may like wide body kits, while others may not....

1/18 BMW E30 M3 by Ottomobile

If you don't want to spend crazy $$$$ on eBay for AutoART's E30 M3, then this might be the solution for you. Although AA's E30 M3 has maintained it's value these days. And with the collecting community back lashing on AutoART use of plastic's now, old AA diecast models prices are on the raise. Alternatively Solido (brand owned by GT Spirit) has a cheaper E30 in diecast metal with some fuctionality (doors open, and has steerable wheels) but the build quality on the Solido M3 is "ok" for the price (Around $70.00 Canadian on eBay before shipping)

But here are some pics of Ottomobile's E30 M3 (and this model is also sold out on the Otto's web store).

Comments are welcome!

Happy Collecting

1/18 Honda S2k Spoon by OneModel

This was a long a$$ delay release by OneModel...but the final outcome was worth it. Probably the best S2k tuner in 1/18 scale.

Enjoy the pics.

Are there many good quality models out there larger than 1:18? If so, I imagine they're really expensive. But I love the idea of a really nice 1:8 or something for my coffee table.

1:12 is getting a lot more popular, you can find 1:12 from AutoArt, Kyosho, GT Spirit and a few others. You're right, they're very expensive.

1:10 is the full size RC size, don't think there are many models in this scale but Tamiya makes all it's full-size RC in this scale. I personally think 1:8 is far too big, it would take up your entire coffee table. 1:12 is already quite large.

Here's an example of a 1:12 model next to a 1:18 I posted earlier in this thread (both are GT Spirit):

Thanks! Yes I had a few Tamiya 1:10 RC cars back in the day! Tamiya TA-03 Pro was the one I had the longest. Had a couple of those and ended up selling to a guy in California who really wanted them for drifting. I got a surprisingly decent amount of money for them given I'd owned them for 10 years.

I hadn't considered 1:12. My dream is a large scale Lotus 49 F1 car.

Thanks. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised some of them cost as much as my 1:1 car

You can get Pocher... they make decent big scale models. These are sold as kits, and you will need to assemble them yourself. No paint required. The good thing is you can detail the crap out of a Pocher kit - there are aftermarket upgrade kits for Pocher.

Another company that makes big scale cars is Degostini. They make a super detailed McLaren MP4/4. This kit is made by Kyosho and sold under Degostini brand. You have two options for Degostini, you can get the model through a subscription or buy the kit straight up - not cheap.

Tamiya makes 1/12 models in plastic or in diecast. And if you are familiar with Tamiya, they produce super quality kits. In 1/12 scale diecast metal from Tamiya are Porsche 918, Ferrari 308 GTO, Enzo and F50. For their plastic kits you will need to assemble it like a plastic model.

If you have good modeling skills, you should try Tamiya's 1/12 big scale kits, and Fujimi 1/16th scale model kits.

Good luck.

Cool, thanks for the info! I'm more interested in completed models than building something myself, but it's something to consider for sure.

maybe not an issue directly related to the switch to composite, but AA seems to be slipping on the details

earlier AA has more detail, but how i see it is the increase on manufacturing cost - so theyre trying to cut some corners.

it also makes the older AA models more desirable in that sense as well, hence making them collectible.

I love my AA signature NSX type R, 787B and the Pagani Zonda R

how about a 1/8 scale toyota celica? it has a diecast body, full lighting, moving parts and a sound card for engine sounds that is tied to the working gas pedal, etc.. produced by hachette, it is one of their latest "subscription models" that will take two years to build. i encourage you to read the article about it.

their excuse for prices having ballooned is due to increased labour costs

but to also cut back on engine bay parts and finish? ouch

i suppose you're right at least there's the benefit of existing models holding value well

the last AA piece i still want is a prototype they've neglected for years...Countach QV
