the only two cars that i am interested at this time is the r33 gtr z-tune in white from autoart, or the s30 fairlady from kyosho i posted a few pages back... that's all.

I haven't been able to find a preview picture of which blue they are releasing it in... just the white, dark grey and black... have a feeling it should be this blue since it's the one from the actual car... but that's too bad because I love the midnight blue/almost purple colour on the RX-7...

Not liking the wheel stance on this one from AutoArt... even though it's accurate of the real car...

thumper 03-23-2014 08:04 AM

68style: do you think they will make a series out of this model? eg. an initial-d car like they did with the ae86?

68style 03-23-2014 08:19 AM

I'd love to see that... but I'd have to guess no since it would paint them into a corner of having to do ones of every Initial-D car like the Lancer, Skyline and a few AA doesn't have moulds for like the 2nd gen RX7 or MR2...

On that note, I've never been able to figure out why there's no 1:18 of a MR2 NA/Turbo ever been made... it's almost bizarre.

vanboy604 03-23-2014 09:08 AM

would a silver r8 5.2fsi by kyosho be worth more or an autoart blue evo 7, both never opened

"innocent blue mica" was the color that google came up with...

is that a bad thing? if sales of the initial-d ae86 are any indication, they would have a sales hit if they did them all imo.

Since you guys are the experts - what do you recommend for high-quality motorbike diecasts?

I have a decent sized collection of AutoArt Japanese cars ... but don't know a thing about bike diecasts.

SpeedStars 03-23-2014 07:28 PM

http://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/server35...0.1280.jpg?c=1 autoart makes some diecast motor cycles. I've got a few plastic model kits and IMO they're so much better than any of the diecasts ive come accross

Minichamps makes most of the bike models that are good quality and the MotoGP ones... IXO also makes a lot in a really small scale (slips my mind right now) and those are very nice, I have a couple of those...

The rest are all the Maisto-type that were filling up Superstore a couple years back... passable... cheap price... but certainly not nice or high-quality.

I don't think the demand for the non AE-86 models is that good, especially outside of Japan... I mean... Jada didn't stay in the Initial-D business very long with its 1:64/1:43 lineup... they're only worth a lot now because of how short the production run ended up being.

68style 03-23-2014 09:17 PM

If you guys are interested, this guy posts up awesome photos of pretty much every upcoming AutoArt model (and some other brands too if you're interested)... some of the exotics coming this year are crazy... 177, EB110, etc. etc. etc.... it's going to be a tough year on the ol' bank account!
