I'm with Hurricane on this one. It's very nice that OP cares enough to look out for someone else's car like that, but really: wheels turning = no problem, at least with your classic solid-axle/diff design. Cars were towed that way for decades before anyone started worrying about AWD transfer cases and CV shafts and shit.
Given the whole thing is based on the flawed assumption that damage is being done, all subsequent righteous indignation is moot. Half-a-second's worth of logical thinking would have avoided this entire thread.
