Spotted in Vancouver this afternoon, one of the first in the city?

Looks awesome but also really long!

There's a few 4's rolling around town now. At first I wasn't a fan but after seeing one in person I think it's one of the sexist coupes on the market. I was looking at getting a alpine white 435i which is incoming because someone cancelled the order to replace my a5 but I'm going to hold off until the m4 comes out.

too_slow 11-01-2013 04:17 AM

Wish the rear diffusers were sculpted to 'wrap around' the dual exhaust.. looks kind of cheap hanging out like that, almost as bad as the m135i

I've driven a 420d (friend works for BMW Australia corporate) , and I have to say.. I think it looks sharper than the LCI E92

Oh and I f*cking love the interior on this:

You can buy all those parts separately, it's part of the m performance parts. The steering wheel looks sick.

good old M performance parts.. Oh you want a "performance" axle back? that'll be $1200 sir..

performance tape-on spoiler? $600

you can buy a brand new car by the time you're done with the bullshit "M" parts. FML

Well BMW is having a test drive event over this weekend and they're showing off the new 4 series (428 & 435) along with the new X5.

First impressions, love the 4 series interior, especially on the M-package. driving wise it feels very similar to the 335i and the dynamic stability control is amazing especially in the wet like how it was today.

I'll have a full review of the car in the coming weeks if anyone's interested over on my website, www.MGReviews.com

^When and where is this test drive event? interested in checking it out

IMO, the performance parts are better designed than any aftermarket parts. They are definitely slightly overpriced for what they are, but that's the only route you can take if you don't want to regret about the purchase afterwards. (aka running into fitment problems on aftermarket aero parts)

Take the n54 performance exhaust for example, $1000 to make your car sound like this with ZERO drone is worth it to me. There are definitely other aftermarket options, but will you really pay $2500 for the eisenmann exhaust that drones so hard that your windows starts to rattle? Or would you pay slightly less, say $800, for a full exhaust that sounds like trash so you can gain 5-10whp?

I only got +3whp and +5tq from this $1000 BMW "PEFORMANCE" exhaust, just the mufflers incl. installation and quad tips, but the driving experience changed dramatically when it changed my boring gassy sounding stock exhaust into an exotic sounding exhaust.

Not my video:

It's at the driving center in pitt meadows. I think it's invite or sign up only to attend the event, not entirely sure though.

Went today for the Driving event,
BMW 4 series is kinda what you expect, reasonably nimble and flat cornering. Xdrive allows you to tuck the front in/kick the rear out a bit.
The 435xi with the m-package is overpriced IMO, one they had for tester should be just under $70,000.
X5 just kinda plows but is a much nicer car inside, car feels smaller than it really is

+111111. The rear tips look cheap and I agree about the rear, it should have been more sculpted. The m4's rear looks like it'll have a more sculpted look.

donjalapeno 11-01-2013 10:22 PM

my god they fucked up harddd on the exterior design of the x5. Previous gen looks so much better.

Marshall Placid 11-01-2013 10:34 PM

I'm not a fan of the kidney grille sticking out.

It just doesn't look right to me.

I prefer the old gen grille that flows evenly with the front.

The hood line in front on the 4 is weird.

Perhaps, it saves on production costs?

The front bottom spoiler looks good though.

Actually I lied, the m135i is more "sculpted" than the m435i.. did they like forget to install the ZHP diffuser? Almost looks like it's something in the back

As promised, I've reviewed the BMW 435xi and it's available for anyone who's interested over on my website MGReviews.com
