Sounds like the overall recommendation is Alec's. I know about CC Racing, and High Performance engines, but I think Alec's is the way to go from what I have read.

Not really... two different people built my motor (top/bottom end) the key is making sure they go together properly.

one shop building a block and another shop building the head.... should be fine unless you don't know how to do a head gasket really.

Or don't check piston to valve clearance if your motor is a tight fit.

And @ Phil, most of my motor parts were bought off ebay. Nothing wrong with that if you know what you're buying. Supertech pistons, eagle rods, supetech valvetrain etc. All easily available on ebay for large price discounts. I'm surprised someone like you (shop owner) would be making silly comments like this.

I always thought he was. And that doesn't bide well for the actual owner of rise having silly comments like that associated with your shop.

CC racing is a really good shop. highly recommended. Built my whole motor from them for a mk1 rabbit. Great team, and very resourceful/ knowledgeable.

Richmond Engines screwed me for a bottom end years ago. They were contracted to sleeve and bore my cylinders. After NOT measuring before cutting, they went almost an 1/16" overbore which is a huge fuckup. Basically Jim told me to fuck off when I approached him with the issue. He said that I'm a nobody and he doesn't need my couple grand because he works with biker money.

Real nice guy.....

one of the best small block ford engine builders is just across the line in Bellingham.

His name is Tyler King - he just built up a 347 for my dad.
Call Meridian Performance in Bellingham (if you're willing to go to the US)

The engine looks very simple like a typical push rod on google image search. Are you building something wild out of that platform or it's just a rebuild that went wrong?

Thats not what I meant I was more alluding too a mix match of parts and guys doing the work with no general complete plan nor one person solely responsible for the build quite often leads to complication and failure is all and no one to take responsibility.
Just in my typical smart ass way.

After reading this, I looked at the prices and they don't seem good at all.
I am assuming these are for a honda engine, and I found better pricing from sponsors on h-t.

Also, Phil probably meant buying no name ebay parts like turbo kits and internals. Not the name brand stuff.

Not everyone on Revscene drives a Hon-duh. Assumption is incorrect.
