Chipotle Mexican Grill

Chipotle Mexican Grill is opening tomorrow (Dec 13) behind the Chapters at Robson Square. Haven't tried it myself but looking forward to it, can't wait until we have an In-N-Out.

hmmm, I like chipotle sauce. This might be interesting. Thanks for the heads up.

I can't wait for In-N-Out burger as well!! :fullofwin: but I don't think it will ever open. Atleast not yet. Carls Jr. is opening a location downtown though.

When and where is In & Out Burger opening up here? :suspicious:

Chipotle isn't all that great. It's just your typical American style Tex-Mex fast food joint. Don't expect the food to be mind blowing or anywhere near authentic.

I've always wanted to try it since I watched Undercover Boss, if you want to know more about it watch that episode.

Sorry, I was just assuming that one would open up here since alot of American companies (Walmart, Target, Five Guys, Carls Jr. Krispy Creme, Chipotle) seem to be moving North.

walked passed it after work today and it seems that they're already open.:ahwow:

Probably a soft opening for Friends and Family. Gonna swing by tomorrow after doing some Christmas shopping.

I tried it a couple of months ago in New York. I didn't really like it and I thought it was overpriced so I guess it may be even more expensive in Vancouver?

Be sure to stock up on:

i would give it a 8.5/10 good fast food alternative and definitely a better choice then red burrito or chronic tacos (which are blocks away).

Love their carnitas burritos! I know it's not really meant to be healthy but one of those burritos are around 1000 calories. :P

Why does Chipotle generate so much buzz here, when Taco Del Mar has been open for years here with several locations? I like Chipotle, but I much prefer the baja style mexican of Taco Del Mar.

And before anyone hates on me saying these are all garbage and not real mexican food: yes we are aware, it is fast food and not real mexican food. It's as real mexican food as Koya is real Japanese food.

You'd be surprised at how many people ARE NOT aware.

My advice to everyone - get the bowl, easier to eat, 300 less calories, and u decide what ingredient combos u eat (burrito is based on whateve u bite into)

Love cmg, but typical Vancouver BS, they have raised prices heavily compared to US, plus hst....

Yeah the prices are +20-30% more than what it would normally be in a US based CMG.

Their reasoning is based on local market factors (rent, wages, costs of ingredients)

43% markup compared to US based CMG for same menu items

jerkstore 12-30-2012 02:26 PM

chipotle is decent. i've had it in the states a few times.

not nearly as good as chronic tacos though. that is and probably always will be my go to burrito joint.

By your definition, I guess fast food chains like McDonald's should have a 35% price hike due to location then.

MonkeyKing 01-04-2013 11:32 AM

Just tried one an hour ago and it tastes just as good as it does in the states!!
