Full time in an automotive dealership. 40 hours (ten days vacation) and one paid sick day. No real limit on unpaid sick days.. But everyones hates u for calling sick lol

Caps out at 5 weeks after ten years but not sure how many weeks before that

2 Weeks at start of employment
3 Weeks at 2 years
4 Weeks at 7 years

Also we get given the following additional stat holidays:
Easter Monday
The Friday of BC Day long weekend
Christmas Eve (When it falls on a weekday)
Boxing Day

The sick day system is kind of dumb. You get 3 paid sick days per year. If you don't take any sick days in the year, you get two additional vacation days plus a cash bonus the following year. It basically encourages people to come in to work sick and spread it to everyone else.

10 paid special leave days (sick spouse, kids, or other emergency situations)
Don't get overtime pay (overtime can only be used as vacation time; can't be paid out)

3 weeks + 1 week of banked time.

But I can usually swing 5 weeks.

EDIT: and 3 sick days...which don't get paid out at the end of the year if you don't use them. that sucks.

Wow I thought I had it bad, but now I realize mine's not too bad

Unlimited sick days as long as you're not calling in once a week for being a pussy.

2 weeks off regardless of time worked.

165HR maximum banked hours, will reset at year's end, and will not go towards pay if not used.

At my company, depends on the position.

Some get two weeks, some get three weeks.

People who have been at the company more than three years get between Christmas and New Years off as well.

I know someone who works as a BC Hydro engineer and he says they start at six weeks vacation. Dafuk?!

I'm a university staff member. We get the following "extra" stat holidays:

Easter Monday
Boxing Day
+3 working days between Boxing day and NY (while the university is closed)

As for vacation days, the breakdown is:

Calendar Year 2 through 5: 4 weeks (20 working days)
6 through 8: 5 weeks (25 working days)
9 or more: 6 weeks (30 working days)

We can also carry-over up to 2 weeks.

I'm on my 10th calendar year, so I have just under 8 weeks of vacation this year (including the carry-over from 2012).

At a major college.

- 6 weeks paid vacation, can carry over
- I work a 4 day week, I get every Friday off
- 16 paid sick days, can carry over
- 1 week paid career development leave
- 4 days paid family illness
- 8 hours paid doctors visit
- get all stat holidays off
- College closes for about 1.5weeks during the Christmas break and we get paid
- If you don't call in sick once within 3 months, you can bank a days pay and you can cash it out. So if you are like me who rarely calls in sick, you can cash out 4 days pay in a year.

8% 4 weeks paid, and 1 week unpaid.

But I feel like I'm going to get laid off soon anyways. Or forced to quit haha.

Wow, working in a university/college looks pretty lax for vacation!

I work in a hospital
4 weeks to start
1 extra day every year at 6 years
I don't know if I cap sick days at a certain point but I have 42 days...but its for true illness, I think people who call in sick for vacation are immoral.

4 weeks vacay + 8-10 personal days (vacation days essentially) + paid sick leave is not unheard of for both BCH and Fortis in engineering positions. Both firms are trying to fish from the very same (and very small) talent pool

2 weeks with a rollover. I have 3-4 days from last year to add to the 2 weeks for this year. two of my coworkers recently saved up 2 years worth of vacation days and took a month and a half off to go to australia.

3 weeks a year - gotta use a minimum of 2, if you only use 2, the extra 1 week is added on for the next year.
10 sick days - whats not used by the end of the year is either paid back to you on your final check, or goes towards your banked overtime for next year

an extra 1 week every X ammount of years
if you work tons of OT...days off are as many as your willing to work to get the banked OT
