it discredits them at the end and made it worthwhile but gave them WAY too much screentime

i would just watch the first 90 minute and the last 20 min Lol

Hondaracer 02-12-2021 08:56 AM

Watched the first episode and towards the end when they start giving the youtubers time it’s kinda like ehhhhh...do I really need to watch this

Edit* not saying I’m some sort of detective man..but given the first episode..a vulnerable person..that’s never travelled anywhere..staying in skid row..more than willing to meet strangers..staying in shared accommodations with god knows who..

The video leads me to think she got in with the wrong peeps, took somthing she shouldn’t have, and the rest is history

Hondaracer 02-13-2021 10:54 AM

Do not waste your time with this garbage.

RiceIntegraRS 02-13-2021 11:23 AM

But im halfway done, i was pretty attached to this case when it came out so to me its kinda interesting

punkwax 02-13-2021 11:25 AM

I don’t mind it either. Crazy stories coming out of that hotel.

Hondaracer 02-13-2021 11:35 AM

The youtuber stuff is very hard to watch. Also it felt like the first half of each episode just went over the last half of the previous episode

punkwax 02-13-2021 01:08 PM

Ya it could do as a 3 ep series with far less YouTube content for sure.

SkunkWorks 02-13-2021 02:32 PM

Cringed so hard when the British couple were saying they drank the water even though it was brown and tasted nasty.

RiceIntegraRS 02-13-2021 05:57 PM

I might be the minority but who the hell drinks tap water? Especially in a place u never been to

By the sounds of it, you should take everything on this show as entertainment over facts

I was kind of curious about it, but not after hearing about the you tubers. I can't even stand looking at those stupid thumbnail images, let alone watching them talk WutFace

Canadian tap water FTW! And some other countries, but not the US and not if the water has colour to it :lol

twitchyzero 02-13-2021 11:14 PM

it shows one of the tubers visited her grave and touched the plaque :rukidding::seriously:

disgusting enough you probably have monetized content from her tragedy, my goodness

I'm with you there. The entire web sleuth bit is trash - both their inclusion in this series and their "involvement" in the case.

Ludepower 02-14-2021 07:02 AM

They could of finished the series in two episodes and come to a quick conclusion it was suicide...nothing to do with youtube keyboard detectives.

mikemhg 02-14-2021 10:25 AM

I hate these internet web sleuths conspiracy types. They remind me of QAnon.

Simple minded losers with no social lives, who sit behind their computer believing they know more about the world -- meanwhile having zero influence or inside information.

This type of shit is dangerous. I felt bad for that death metal guy, these nincompoops' couldn't even confirm that the man stayed at the hotel for a few nights a whole year before her death? Meanwhile they ruined his personal life, and music career?

Fuck them.

BlackV62K2 02-14-2021 11:46 AM

It definitely could've been done in 2 episodes max if they cut out all the fluff from internet sleuths

That guy gave off weird, creep vibes honestly

Yea like..a some loser neck beard half way across the country is going to uncover details 20 of LA’s best homicide detectives couldn’t while being ON SCENE?!? Lol

Like as soon as the YouTube shit started coming up I packed it in. I’m sure these YouTube sleuths have broken some cases before but in this scenario with such a high profile case, no.

westopher 02-14-2021 12:49 PM

The parallels of that to a morbidly obese anthem singer trying to discredit the worlds best medical professionals is pretty on point.

EmperorIS 02-14-2021 02:08 PM

they ruined that hardcore rock death metal dude's life too. even after he proved that he wasn't he wasn't even in the area at the time of the murder.

Thank you :lol

I couldn't get them trying to insinuate that the LAPD was "covering" the murder up as well.

This isn't some LAPD shooting where they would have an actual incentive to cover it up as per backlash and or riots from the general public.

What incentive would the LAPD have to cover up the apparent accidental death of some nobody Canadian tourist with mental health issues, visiting LA all by herself?

People come and go, disappear, or die in LA all the time.

In fact, it's pretty wild her family let her go there on her own in the first place. Downtown LA isn't a city I'd consider a welcoming and friendly place to "find yourself" while in the midst of a mental health crisis, anyone in her circle should've been able to make that blatantly obvious to the poor girl.

bcrdukes 02-15-2021 10:38 AM

Skid Row is more infamous than Main and Hastings, I guess!

unit 02-15-2021 10:58 AM

i watched the first ep and a half and couldnt watch anymore..
the youtube sleuths are trying too hard to make the case personal and about them, with little regard to how the friends and family must be taking it way harder than they are.

jerche 02-15-2021 11:23 AM

I felt this whole thing would've been over if they owned up that the hatch being opened this whole time when the body was discovered. I was fixated on the hatch being closed when I first heard about this that there's no way this is a suicide. What a costly 'miscommunication'

Also the weird TB lam-elisa and the postal code graveyard connection? Sup with that?

Even if the hatch was closed, that didn't do anything for me.

What if Pedro simply closed the hatch when he first went up there and discovered the body, rather then leaving it open?

Even the clothing argument was silly. It's like these internet sleuths never left their computer and went swimming before. Try treading water with clothes on, it's hard.

It's blatantly obvious that once she got in there, it was difficult to get back out. She began having to tread water for an unknown amount of time, took her shoes and clothing off to make it easier, eventually she got tired, and succumbed to drowning.

4 hour long episodes with a litany of Youtubers to come to that conclusion? Come on Netflix :lol
