Oscar Pistorius aka Blade Runner shoots and kills GF by mistake

Terrible news.

Oscar Pistorius Charged With Murder

MindBomber 02-14-2013 02:15 AM

"Brigadier Denis Beukes confirmed...there had been previous incidents at the premises including allegations of a domestic nature...the deceased was shot four times and died on the scene"

Definitely a mistake.

:alone: RIP

pastarocket 02-14-2013 09:15 AM

RIP to his ex-girlfriend.

-not surprised to hear that Pistorius carried a cache of firearms and other weapons to protect himself at home.

Pistorius bragged about his marksmanship at a shooting range using Twitter :

“Had a 96% headshot over 300m from 50shots! Bam!” he tweeted

South African murder rates are so high. "Blade Runner" had a revolver near his bedside, a machine gun, a cricket bat and another bat in his room.

-South Africa has some of the world’s highest murder rates, with nearly 50 people killed each day in the nation of 50 million. It also has high rates of rape, other assaults, robbery and carjackings.

U.N. stats South Africa has the second highest rate of shooting deaths in the world, second only to Colombia.

A co-worker of mine mentioned that she saw some South Africans throwing concrete blocks on to a highway in order to stop commuters and steal their valuables. :heckno:

Canadian travel advisory Country travel advice and advisories for South Africa:

Be on the alert for ploys intended to stop your vehicle. Criminals have been known to create bogus accidents or roadblocks (sometimes with debris in the road) and to throw rocks, bricks and paint from freeway overpasses onto moving vehicles to damage cars and disorientate drivers. The criminal then waits for the driver to pull over or exit the car before grabbing exposed valuables and/or stealing the vehicle.
Be especially vigilant at vulnerable points such as traffic lights, stop signs, yield signs and highway off-ramps. Smash and grab incidents are frequent, where car windows are broken and valuables such as handbags are taken while cars are wait at junctions. Park in well-lit areas, do not pick up strangers and ensure that vehicle doors are locked and windows are closed at all times.

Scary.

The exchange rate in South Africa is 1CDN to 8.75SAR

Its developing a bit of a film industry and a person could pick up a decent home for around $40,000 CAD.

It'd be a vacation hotspot if it wasn't led by a racist moron who isn't fit to manage a Burger King much less an entire country.

i dont know why anyone in their right mind would live in africa unless they had a death wish.

my friend went there "backpacking", and none of the people in his hostel even DARED to leave the hostel. he said some ppl in the hostel begged him not to leave. they feared he'd never come back.

he left, went for a walk. wearing the most rag tag clothing... NO valuables whatsoever. nothing

Just a shitty t-shirt, shitty shorts, and shitty shoes. and like a few small bills in his pocket. thats it. no watch. no nothing. nothing you could "see" that you would want to steal. not even a belt. or anything.

he went to buy a bag of fruits in a busy area.

as soon as he bought the fruits, he had a bag in his hands. that's all that was needed.

moments later 5 black guys grabbed him from behind. 3 of them held him in place. one with a choke hold and the others holding his arms and legs.
2 of them searched his entire body thoroughly. like pinching every square of his body for valuables (in case you were hiding anything) they took the bag of food and the bills and he was let go and they disappeared in to the crowd.

it was a very crowded area. everyone carried on like nothing happened.

he looks like a shaggy homeless asian guy btw. he tried to blend in as much as possible.

he's been to every place on this planet, every ghetto, just to check it out. he said africa was the most ghetto, the most dangerous.

this was Johannesburg btw

If you are highly trained with firearms you could let 4 shots go in a matter of a second. It could have very well been by accident (mistaking her for an intruder in the home). I like to try to think of the best possible outcome before labeling someone a murderer and hopping on the bandwagon. Everyone deserves a fair trial however given that he is in South Africa, that likely won't happen. Good luck living in one of the biggest shithole prison systems in the world.

I have friends living happily in Africa. It's not all violence and horror.

A person "highly trained with firearms" would not shoot four times at an unknown target, because incidents such as the above are the probable result; it is the most important lesson any firearms owner is taught.

I know a wealthy Asian friend that lives in Johannesburg and is neighbors with Angelina Jolie. Now unless you live in that part of the area, you have everything little thing to be worried about.

bcedhk 02-14-2013 02:06 PM

he/she probably also didnt mention they have 4+ bodyguards with them all the time to live "worry free" there. ^

It is violence and horror. your friends just don't walk into the bad parts of the city.

i can walk into the worst part of the city here wearing a 5000 dollar suit and a gold watch and walk out the same condition i walked in.

You can't do that in the worst part of the ghettos in any african city.

you only measure the worst part of town.

Looks like it might be premeditated murder...

Quote:

The state intends charging the double amputee with pre-meditated murder after the death of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, the Pretoria Magistrate's Court heard on Friday.

"Is the state's argument pre-meditated murder?" asked Magistrate Desmond Nair.

"Yes," said prosecutor advocate Gerrie Nel.

A man, believed to be Pistorius, was sitting in the back seat of a police van, his head covered in a jacket, when he arrived at the court earlier.

The Valentine's Day murder at Paralympian Pistorius's house in Pretoria dominated newspaper front pages on Friday morning, overshadowing President Jacob Zuma's opening of Parliament.

A few hours after Zuma's annual State Of The Nation address on Thursday evening, the head of state failed to make the front page of most newspapers.

Speculation was rife over Pistorius's alleged shooting of his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

So now the question is why he wanted to kill her...?

MR_BIGGS 02-15-2013 08:50 AM

Odd that he shot his girlfriend four times on Vday.

Perhaps, and this is speculation, she was getting the D from someone else that had a leg up on Pistorius.

She is gorgeous BTW.
