Well, nice meeting you then haha. I was the guy that walked out to the back to watch. Glad you managed to find that hacksaw, and no your car wasn't any louder without that muffler...

Hello everyone!

As always, I'm inviting you all to join me at the next Porsche Club autocross: Sunday July 14th - Double Pad event!

We are super short on drivers, and need 20 more in order to pay for the second half of the skidpad! PLEASE COME OUT AND JOIN US!!!!

Sign up here: Karelo.com - Register - Porsche Club of America - Canada West Region

For those who've never been out with us, we are a bit more laid back than UBC/VCMC, no classing, just fun, and lots of runs. Last event was 10 runs and a looong course!

Disscussion thread here: PCA-CWR AutoCross - Sunday July 14th (Pitt Meadows) | Official PCA Events and Issues | Forums

Don't wait to the last second! Sign up early!

Cheers,
Rich

VCMC is excited to host the Canadian Autoslalom Championship at the BC Driving Center August 9-11th.

2013 ASN Canadian Autoslalom Championship

The last time we had Canadian National at Vancouver was back in 2007!
Canadian National counts per class not groups. Don't miss out the chance to be a National Champ!

Wed, Aug 14 - UBCSCC Mission Track Day
Sun, Aug 25 - UBCSCC's Team Enduro AutoX
Thurs, Aug 29 - VCMC Mission Track Day
Sun, Sep 22 - VCMC AutoX

PCA and BMW club might also have events as well.

While I would probably recommend people to get their feet wet through autox before taking their cars out to a track day, as long as you are accompanied by an instructor (at the track day) and don't confuse the event with Fast and Furious, you are going to be ok.

One very important point to realize, however, is that track days are not races. You share the track with other cars, but passing is only allowed in designated passing zones, and a strict passing protocol must be followed before any overtaking can happen. While this passing protocol stuff might sound like a killjoy, it is there to ensure everyone's safety, and I can assure you that everybody will still have a boatload of fun.

So think about it. Show up at all 4 events.
