I know chinese fucking geeks are sitting on millions of their parent's wealth, but does that buy them an ounce of cool or status beyond their own social circles?

so IMO i value life experiences.

My bank account is $0 but if your life is full of joy and experiences, you're already rich

As a parent you can't or at least you shouldn't be living like that. Parenting means putting your social life and spare time on hold and devoting the majority of it your kids. The older they get the more of your time you reclaim but at the end of the day at least in my experience you're putting their needs ahead of yours which means planning for tomorrow and the week after next.

This is all my opinion there is no manual or rule book.

i value life experiences over security

Psykopathik 02-21-2013 08:05 AM

being broke is sure to put a downer on life experiences.

"Daddy, I'm hungry..."

"I've got a great story to tell ya, son!"

yeah. don't see that working out.

maybe that's b/c you currently have security (parents). when the gravy train ends, the life you experience with security will start to look pretty darn good.

and if you value your personal "life experiences" over the security of children under your care...then you're not ready to have kids.

Have any of you judging or questioning op ever been a parent and raised a kid?
Or are you all just making generalizations based on the values you were raised with?

GLOW 02-21-2013 09:59 AM

a few of us have. i'm not judging OP, but at a certain point i'm assuming he's trolling so i reply in turn. but i share quasi's opinion/post on parenting.

I'll tell my son. " sorry son, here's a can of sardines I value life experiences and so should you." :)

GLOW 02-21-2013 10:24 AM

eating an entire can of sardines in 1 sitting is quite the experience!

dink 02-21-2013 10:48 AM

why don't you just ask your girlfriend how she will feel living in an one-bedroom unit with a few kids?

hi-revs 02-21-2013 06:35 PM

It better have a balcony for when your 2nd child comes you can build a shack out on the balcony to make it into a 2nd room :nyan:

Iceman-19 02-21-2013 07:21 PM

Buy an apartment on at least the 6th floor, then jump off your balcony head first. Thanks for doing your part to improve humanity.

ae101 02-21-2013 10:53 PM
