when times are tough some times you have to do what you have to do

I find 600 SQ feet apartment should be liveable with 2 kids
yet society does not see it that way (here)
or maybe only revscene society?

I Read a few article in google and one comment says it is a pretty common for a family 3 or 4 in 1 bedroom apartment in UK.

Why is everyone on him for wanting to buy an one bed room condo to raise a family? It could be allot worse like renting. Everyone has to start somewhere and build from there.....no one goes out and buys a 2mil house right off the bat...just like cars, people slowly upgrade as finances get better.

Sure, everyone would like a 5 bedroom house to raise a family, but we don't live in Kansas......

For myself, I'd much rather raise my family in a 600 sq ft Vancouver Condo than a 2000 sq ft house in Surrey just because I enjoy Vancouver lifestyle Vs suburb lifestyle.

diesel_test is asking about raising a family, not building a house...

I am talking about maximum occupancy bylaw
restricting how many can live in 1 bedroom apartment

some say maximum of 2 persons for 1 bedroom;
max. 4 people for 1 bedroom + den . but who knows what the strata council can decide

Ahh ok thanks for the clarification. :)

Slightly off topic, but in the DTES, nobody checks for bylaw violations, because the inspectors are too afraid to step inside to check up on the suites.

Also, if bylaws were enforced, many families would be out on the streets.

Anyway.............
