Keep in mind, the HOV lane has one other gotcha: the solid line, which is illegal to cross.

Which, when the freeway's done, should have permanent pylons, IMO.

Does HOV lane count as left lane? I sometimes travel with my family and baby in the car and driving in HOV lane. More often then not I get these tailgaters on the HOV lane.

This happens to me during semi-rush hour, or busy traffic. where the fast lane and right lane is moving along well, but with increased number of cars on both lanes.
Some drivers then decided the HOV is the new fast lane.

I want to know what you people think,, should HOV lane drivers move over for the these tailgating assholes.

In my opinion, if you're driving the same or close to the same as the speed in the regular lanes.. regardless if you have two or more people in your car you should not be in the HOV. Nothing bothers me more than cruising along in HOV only to come up behind someone driving slower or exactly the same speed as the regular lanes, and are only in there because they have multiple people in the car. I know some people that think they HAVE to be in the HOV if they have two or more... The same people that drive right on the limit or under. :suspicious:

And after 7PM the HOV lane is technically the new fast lane west of the Port Mann... ;)

...and all day on weekends.

BTW, when the cops pull people over for single occupant in HOV, they should also be handing out tickets to commercial vehicles on there.

What's worse: Left lane hoggers or passing on the right? ;)

how fucking difficult is it to move over when someone's coming up behind you faster than you are travelling?

i travel the 99 highway to US and langley access from time to time. after all the ladner and delta traffic gets off from the tunnel, the traffic is usually courteous. likewise coming back. however that is the only highway in gvrd that i have seen courteous drivers. highways 1, 91 and 17 are awful. people just sit in the left lane and think they have a right to be there. ^^passing on the right happens because of lane hoggers^^

Left lane hoggers. They are the reason you have to pass on the right.

X100

HOV is a privelige for people who don't ride alone. It pains me to have to pass a westfailia on the right doing 10 under in the HOV lane (on a weekend)

The 'HAVE to be in HOV' is a huge point that more people need to realize.

I say HOV is one step up from fast lane, and the only reason i had a child.
