Bluestar motors?

I'm interested in their 1 series 2008 Red BMW 135i Coupe Dinan - $19,980 - For Sale, Finance Lease or Buy Car's Vancouver, BC - Bluestarmotors.com

anyone deal with these guys before?

mb_ 03-14-2013 09:20 PM

Yeah they're legit, my work deals with them when we get trade ins from time to time

i never delt with them. but at the bottom of the page, it "states" its a bbb accredited business, so it should be a reputable company. what a great price on the car.

SpeedStars 03-14-2013 09:23 PM

Personally, I have never dealt with them before. But as with all used car dealerships, i'd still recommend you to research the car above of what the salesman has told you. Remember to either ask for a car history report or at least get the VIN # and search it up yourself. Also make sure if it is out of province or BC Local. If it's out of province, this could mean that he car has hidden issues outside of BC. Finally, if you are confident the car has no hidden issues, bring in a mechanic that YOU trust. Often times, the mechanic the shop uses are heavily biased.

car looks great, hope you get it

nma 03-15-2013 09:59 AM

That's pretty cheap... could have accident claims

heleu 03-15-2013 10:22 AM

Independent inspection is a must. I actually trust dealerships less than private sellers.

pb.kidz 03-15-2013 11:29 AM

They were pretty honest about the car but tried to sugar coat the fact that the car has 15K worth of damage from accident and had its engine replaced on separate occasion worth $17k, too bad so sad I actually like it, total about 30k worth of repairs... I wouldn't pay more than 15k for this lol

well that explains the price. 20 grand for a 135i is a bargain. probably 5-8 grand cheaper than anything else out there... along it has Dinan kit with M sport pkg.. 6 speed too!

looks like a canadian car also...

keep in mind, repairing a BMW is not cheap if it got into an accident.... a side swipe repair on a 3 series is close to 20 grand.

if the engine has been repair / replaced under warranty by a reputable BMW dealer, then why the hell not. new engine, along with a warranty of workman ship from bmw themselves.

Bluestar is a pretty legit dealer, but along with independent lots, do some homework and research first.

Gazorcoop 03-15-2013 12:04 PM

^I agree. It's not a Honda family sedan. It won't be cheap to replace if it got hit on the side lightly (bumper/fenders/doors/lights). That will undoubtedly run you at least $10k.

tofu1413 03-15-2013 12:15 PM

^ my Si got rear ended while parked on the street... all said and done, it was a $7500 claim!!!

supafamous 03-15-2013 01:19 PM

Motor replacement is not particularly rare for that motor so I wouldn't call it a big deal in terms of whether the car is good or bad. The fuel pump caused lots of problems and BMW extended the warranty on those engines as a result. I had a couple thoughts about looking into that car as well but I wasn't ready to bite the bullet on the reliability issues of that motor.

Good luck with it though - it looks like a sweet ride.

Even minor accidents on a bimmer can add up pretty quickly. I had a recent claim and the final cost was way over what I was expecting.

I'm going to go in tomorrow and take a look at it, problem is I've never driven standard

tofu1413 03-15-2013 07:07 PM

Don't be a dick man.. go in there with someone who can drive a manual transmission. You will look like a retard not to mention, how the hell can you "test out" a car if you can't even drive it..
