Places to take your grandparents?

Try to have a connected conversation with them. Anywhere, about anything. Like asking about the family history or what did they do when they were young. Elders love to reminisce. Great way to learn about the family more.

Yeah, I agree with those who said, just spend some quality time with them.

Talk about family, unless your familly is like not friendly to each other.

Play Ziangqi with gramps. If you don't know how to play, ask him to teach you. Give them a nice back rub while watching some Chinese movies. Any family videos?

It's pretty cold out there right now. Going places may not be a good idea. Honestly, just go visit them. Gramdma probably likes cooking for you, yes?

You'd be surprised how much grandmothers enjoy cooking......... unless your grandma doesn't cook. I've yet to see a grandmother who can't cook a great meal.

Anyway, you're a good grandson, my man.

I usually visit my grandpa once a week at his apartment, and we chat about life, work, family, and also watch pawn stars lol

he also comes over to the house for brunch with the family every sunday.

I'm not doing it as much as i used to... (while i was in school vs working)

I only see my grandpa when I visit him in HK or he comes here so I don't have too many ideas. However, my parents are grandparents and even though my niece is only 5...you really see what makes them happy when they spend time with their granddaughter--even if it's nothing "extravagant" or super special. All grandparents want is time to create memories with their little grandchildren. There's a saying in Chinese that you are hard on your children, but you spoil your grandchildren.

Every Monday the 3 of them go for dimsum and Saturday mornings they go for pancakes. It's a routine my niece has and for a 5 year old..she sticks to this routine every weekend and when it's messed up..she throws a fit because those 2 days are her days with her grandparents. Even though she's so young, I know she will keep this weekly tradition up. (Maybe not dimsum MOndays since she starts K in the fall )

Another few things she does with them frequently (if not daily):

-Gardening. She loves "helping" them outside pulling weeds or tossing mini branches into the greenery tub
-Playing soccer or throwing her basketball around in the playroom
-Reading nighttime stories with my dad before bed
-Sitting at our pond feeding the fishies

thats nice. when us family went to hk last summer, we went to find my grandma who goes yumcha early in the morning by herself everyday. we surprised her alot. mission accomplished! so happy that when we visit hk everytime, we stay at her house.
