Just finished watching Kdrama Pasta. I enjoyed it. Helps that I like cooking and have also been watching a ton of other cooking shows.

I don't think any of these dramas end well. :yuno:

EDIT: This is the first one I've seen where the supporting female role isn't that of a jealous, conniving bitch. :)

Typical of TVB 40 episode series..... just drag everything long until like episode 35 then wrap everything up at super speed in 5 episodes L

willystyle 08-30-2013 05:34 PM

This could've easily been a 20 episode drama, but because Francis Ng and Chilam is in it. They wanted to drag it out, and fill in more garbage in-between, so people would watch it more, so they can generate more ad revenue. It's all about the money, not about the quality of the production. Typical TVB.

ae101 09-03-2013 01:06 AM

actually its about the sponsors as this was sponsored by HK airlines, also i hear this drama is getting bad reviews

RevYouUp 09-03-2013 12:47 PM

They put fucking vitamin water in every god dam episode! You want some orange juice? OK! I'll give you orange flavored vitamin water

Groot 09-03-2013 01:05 PM

i guess thats what replaced Watson's water bottles :lawl:

I just realized after watching 36 episodes of TITS2... NOTHING has happened (There is no plot). Even with Francis, Chilliam, Myolie, Ron, etc, it's not enough to save this drama, or TVB. I skipped so many scenes because I couldn't handle the cringe-worthy/cheesey typical TVB lines.

I really hope the government gives HKTV their license faster. 1 episode of Police Boundaries > 36 episodes of TITS2. I would PAY to watch HKTV drama..

willystyle 09-03-2013 09:49 PM

I've been watching a few 90's TVB dramas lately, and the difference in plot and acting compared to what's pumping out these days from TVB post-2000 is astounding. It's like all of the good directors, producers, and scriptwriters died after Y2K, and replaced by an amateur film crew from a local high school. Wtf happened? These days, even if they put together an all-star team casts (which is rare), TVB still can't produce a high quality drama if their life depended on it, even their "grand productions", and anniversary series is crap. If they can't even get these productions right, how can they possibly do a good job of making regular series?

official bash tvb drama thread

:lawl:

i totally agree though

it's not that tvb can't produce good drama, it's cause there's no need to. You can put in any shitty 4th line actors and still have good amount of people watching. It's because there is NO competition. TVB has become the ONLY company that's worthy and actors, producers etc are told what they are worth. People can't compete with TVB because there's literally NO where to go if you are in that industry.
Then 2000 came about and China came about and took a good chunk of these people away. People are given more money and so they bail to earn RMB.

we are left with mediocre people or even junior people working in that industry now.

As much of a disappointment TITS2 has been so far, today's episode with the father flipping out at pink pink and her mom was pretty hilarious :lawl:

TITS2 opinion (slightly spoiler)

Spoiler!

ae101 09-08-2013 07:58 PM

i still dont know if the final eps is 42 or 43 as i missed it on sunday

willystyle 09-08-2013 08:31 PM

Last Thoughts

Spoiler!

I heard that Tony Leung (Leung Ka Fai), Anthony Wong, and among a few other heavyweight actors from the 80s and 90s will be coming back to film series for TVB next year. Using TITS2 as a measuring stick (Chilam, Francis Ng, Kenneth, Ron, Myolie), I don't expect the productions next year will be of much improvement either.

TITS1 >>>>> TITS2

It's not even a close race.

Had a FNF6 type ending with stopping right before the end/water

:lawl:

j.f0ng 09-08-2013 10:46 PM

Just finished watching it.
Spoiler!

Overall the entire series was just meh. I was looking forward to On Call 36 2, but seeing as how TITS2 was way overhyped, I have a feeling On Call will probably end up like this one.

ae101 09-08-2013 10:48 PM

did not watch.the last eps but.its tvb everything has to end in happiness

i remember the show blast to the past (dont remember.the name) with louis koo, the ending ended.with him having a son but in the comic it was told that he could not have kids.due the fact that the time machine kill his sperms

tvb always has to have a happy ending

You mean When Heavens Burn?

It's interesting how you use that series as a comparison, because that's probably the best drama series they've produced in the last couple of years, YET when WHB was broadcasted, it stirred up many complaints and controversies from the HK public (mostly see lai's) about the twisted plot (mainly cannibalism), that I don't think TVB will take the risk and go that route again. It was extremely popular among the 20-40 year old crowd though.

Also, most of the leading actors have left since they made that drama series. Bowie Lam, Charmaine Sheh, Moses Chan (I think). That Kenny dude was the odd man out, supposedly he replaced Nick Cheung for the role (as he filmed the trailer, but decided to turn down the job for unknown reasons). What a HUGE DOWNGRADE. Nick Cheung would've been way better for the role.

That Kenny Wong guy can't act..

ae101 09-09-2013 12:19 AM

lol Nick Cheung will not fit the role la, he just too funny in my mind
