On April 1st, we will ever back to the pst and gst. Here's a link to stuff that will be changed from 12% to 5 HST abolished from Monday - but will prices fall?
Also, if buying a private sale used car, check out the link below. More links on Google News Axe B.C. transfer tax on used cars |

Still can't believe this is happening. I wanted the referendum to happen because I believe BC voters should have a say on this type of issue, but I can't believe people voted to abolish the HST.

I'd rather pay 12% on a 20.00 bill than 7% on 22.00.. but the majority of lemmings in the province fell for the Zalm's bullshit and only see the 7% on the bill part.

the thing about this transfer tax for used cars is total bullshit. Oh well, the thing is that used goods from private owners will always be lower than dealers for a better product because consumers are taking a loss either way whereas the dealer is operating for a profit and had margins to worry about. Either sell your car to s dealer for 2k who will sell it for 3k,or sell your car to a consumer directly for 2.5k and all parties benefit but the dealer. As for hst, hst is a much better idea... Unfortunately the politicians ruined it by being 2 faced... Great move, ruined by horrid politicians, the story of Canada (pretty much most countries, as I see very few politicians that aren't retards)

Canadians saying eh is a verbal trait, it's not a written trait, that's why it bothers me, as there is no logic to it
Ad what has you being bigger and taller than the avg Asian have to do with anything - are you turning this into a sword fight?
Also, it's not 12% vs 12%, it's an input tax issue, cost to consumers is higher, fucking retarded to go from one to another and then back at great cost and inconvenience to business, and we're only going back bc the politicians fucked up hard in how they implemented it

			My thoughts:
The HST is sound economic policy. I would have liked to see more exemptions, however, or even a reduced rate. For example, VAT in the UK has three rates-20% (standard), 5% (reduced rate), 0%, (zero rate). Unfortunately, the BCLibs are stupid and didn't do that. In addition, the way the HST was introduced was devious and straight up deceptive.
The HST referendum was less about the HST, and more about showing Gordo that we weren't gonna take his shit anymore. It will be interesting to see how Adrian Dix and the NDP handle the fallout.

We have to count all our cigarettes so the tax can be adjusted. Tills have to be reprogrammed. We have to make sure the right tax is applied to each item. Some stuff will have one tax some will have two. It's easy to change the tax rate on our system but on others it's much harder.
