Commercial dr has 5 cases this morning And Collingwood has 1.5 cases left right now Was pretty tempted to pay a homeless dude outside to grab me an extra two bottles Ha ha Im pretty sure these are selling super quick right now because everyones trying to get some before Christmas for gifts.. After Christmas or the new year I bet every store will have lots in stock |
Is the Harvest Rye a limited batch release though? After all inventory is depleted they wouldn't make it anymore right? |
This isn't a limited production product. It's not like the Japanese stuff that is started aging 12 years ago and the supply is limited. By springtime, the shelves will be full, they'll be cranking it out. I wouldn't stress if you haven't found a bottle yet. But it does make a nice Xmas gift if you can find one before then. I have a major client who loves whisky and can't wait to give one to her. |
^^^ Like Star Wars, I'll just wait for the hype to die down a bit before I go experience it, myself. |

Was chatting with one of the BCL employees and he mentioned the rave review of Northern Harvest was paid for. Any truth to this? Would be an interesting way to drive demand way up. |

Asking my family in Alberta if they can find me a bottle. Not willing to line up for it |

My buddy opened his bottle and said that it is ok. Nothing overly special. Lol |
For you hype machines. Quote:

There are 4 boxes and few on the shelf at Fraser Street & 47th Liquor Store. Price is $42 + tax thou. It is a private owned store. Huge banner outside advertising RYE in stock |
15 left at the store on Fraser and 47. |
Honestly don't care lol. I've tried it and don't miss it. If I happen to see it randomly one day and it's still at $30 I would buy it but no hunting for me. |
I emailed Crown Royal and was told the same thing that it will be a regular addition. It's the hype that is causing it to sell out. |
My dad got me a bottle for Christmas, not my cup of tea, but I'm more of a tequila guy than a whiskey guy (which, given my family's primarily Scottish heritage, is borderline blasphemy). I told my dad he can have the rest as he seemed to enjoy it. No point in letting it go to waste as I'd end up mixing it. |
on the contrary Crown is going to ramp up production of NH by mid this year. |
Has anyone tried the Glenmorangie Companta? |
For those of you who fancy the Johnnie Walker Green Label, better act fast and stock up on the last bottles remaining on shelves. I called a few places, and I am told that the Green Label is a one time special shipment for 2015. No shipments are available for 2016 in sight. The lower mainland are all out of stock, except for a location in Surrey that most likely got their 24 bottles from Langford, Victoria, where it doesn't sell very well. Fun fact, since the Green Label is an excellent bang-for-the-buck whiskey, Johnnie Walker decided to discontinue the product. To my knowledge, you can now only find it still on shelves in the UK and Taiwan. In place of the Green Label, Johnnie Walker added the Gold Label Reserve, a product that is average at best with no age statement. Lastly, for those of you who wonder about the brand and don't know much about it.. -Red Label- pretty good for shots and mixing with soda. Sprite works surprisingly well. -Black Label- good sipping whiskey and relatively affordable. Peaty and very delicious -Double Black- extra smokey and peaty, sweet finish. Don't let the bottle sit for too long after opening, oxidation makes this particular blend go bad real quick -Gold Label Reserve- sweet, average whiskey. I would stick with JW.black -Gold Label- 18 year age statement I believe, very very delicious -Blue Label- famous for what it is. I wouldn't buy a bottle of it, just try it at a bar for kicks. |
JW replaced their 18 years Gold Label 2 - 3 years ago with PLATINUM LABEL |
^ because of high global demand for all whiskies, you will see aged statement product continue to leave the marketplace for non aged statement products..... |
I brought back a bottle of hibiki 17 year. from osaka so tempted to just crack it and drink it.. but i think ill save it for a special occasion lol http://www.theraremalt.com/image/cac..._2-850x850.jpg |
