Did your guys bottle come in a bag and box or just the bottle |
^just the bottle. I think box/bag are not for the Canadian market. |
Wow all stores sold out. I was advised to be in line by 7:30am for a 9:30am open. |

i also didn't get mine in a box, just the bottle itself. |
So many people are listing it for around $100 but I doubt people are willing to pay that much for a bottle. |
The ones in the bag/box were originally produced for the USA but redirected to Canadian retailers. |
For those of you who are considering to buy Northern Harvest on Craigslist, I would strongly advise against it. As I said before in my post about Northern Harvest, it is a good rye whiskey, and I felt that it was consistent. But this is only my opinion. But let's be honest with ourselves - taste is subjective, and Jim Murray knew he was going to create a ripple effect when he announced it as best whiskey of the year. I would not go great lengths to pay $100 for this. Your money can be better spent on other spirits. It is good, but not $100, and "world's best whiskey" good. :) If you absolutely must have it, drive down to Lynnwood, stop by Total Wine, and go bonkers. There are tonnes of Northern Harvest in Washington State. Take the hit on duty/taxes coming back and then see for yourself. |

Can someone recommend me a store in Vancouver with a selection of glencairn glasses? Thanks. |

The cheapest was found in a popular tourist shop in DT Victoria. Locally though, you can try Crate & Barrel (Oakridge location). Should be under $10. |

As for the Rye, I've had a bottle and it was good stuff for the money. For $30 it's a fucking steal imo but I would never pay $70 let alone $100 for a bottle though b/c at that point the value is gone for me. I kept debating it with a friend who kept comparing it to $100+ bottles like a Highland 18 etc but that isn't even a fair comparison. My thoughts are this, the Rye is like a Mazda 3, great car for sure but it ain't no fucking M3. So don't start comparing it or buying it for a price it ain't worth. |
I grabbed a bottle from West coast liquor store on Royal Oak in Burnaby yesterday. They had a 1 CASE per person limit. The price is jacked up 48 vs 29 but a better option than craigslist. As of yesterday I saw at least 30 cases remaining but you have to ask the cashier. Might wanna call before hand just to see if they have stock |
