so why did the Ford GT had to be converted from DOT spec to Transport Canada spec?

I didn't say there weren't exceptions, I just said that doesn't mean DOT certification isn't acceptable in Canada. What does skidmark say in the post I linked?

"Is it functionally equivalent to the original? Do the DOT/SAE/E code letters on the lens assembly match EXACTLY with what you are replacing, and are all lens colours EXACTLY the same?

If not, then the answer is NO, you can't do it."

Aaaaand we're back.
The LEDs were on back order but are now installed.

After a few weeks driving the only issue is road trolls can see the turn signal
more readily and speed up to deny my lane change, most people let me in.
Otherwise happy as a pig in shit.
