HOT TIP! When you go to test drive one make sure you wait until the oil temp is around 170 so you get max boost. I remember reading people took it out for a drive right off the lot and said it had no power. Takes about 5 minutes.

Pros:
- I think its sexy as fuck. I love the body lines and the interior is great (especially your premium). I don't want to say is luxury but they kind of found a mid point and its what I was looking for.
- Engine makes great power and has great torque. No ricer downshifts required.
- Good on gas
- Warranty
- Financing
- Great car for money
- Tail lights are mad aggressive yo. Bright as fuck blinding Inaii and Raiden all day.
- Car is surprisingly huge
Cons:
- Hey remember when I said good on gas? Lol not really. Boost all day because racecar 350km a tank. I'm averaging 450-500 on 91 driving from coquitlam to DT daily so its not the best but it does well as long as you don't floor it (that goes with most cars though)
- 3.8 Trim lvls in Canada are stupid. Fucking Muricans - Rattles when cold sounds like a cheap bastard
- I had a manufacture defect and my front fender needed to be fixed because it would rattle at certain RPM
- Check out the gencoupe.com forums because there has been some issues with the wastegate rattling (mine is fine)

I was with my parents picking up a 2012 elantra 6 speed that we bought and we were sitting in the car with the salesman in the driver seat showing us how to work everything, he jokingly laughed at my dad asking "if he knew how to drive stick". Now the car was parked on top of a hill in front of the store and the salesman released the hand break and the gear was in neutral, the car slowly started rolling down the hill and he kept slamming the clutch, yelling "why wont the car won't stop, the car won't stop!!". The car picked up speed and T boned another parked genesis sedan. My dad sitting in the passenger seat didn't want to pull the hand break for him in case anything did happen and the salesman blamed us for it and refused to fix it.
The other car had a fairly large dent in the door, it was Hyundai's car and not another customers. Our car had a some scratch marks in the bumper but nothing too bad. The salesman still urged us to take the car home and bring it back another day to fix but we knew they'll take forever to fix it so we told them to fix it first before we pick it up. I don't even know how people that sell cars don't know that that brake pedal is beside the clutch.

i got my 2012 2.0t premium a couple weeks ago so i can't say too much as of right now, but
pros:
has some really nice body lines
nice interior, don't have any problems with it yet (can fit 2 medium adults in the back, knee room is okay, but head room is not that great)
i like the torque and the stock exhaust
can use regular fuel
cons:
gas mileage, didn't think it'd be this bad when i was buying it (computer is telling me around 14.5L-15.5L/100km) 90% city and im not driving it hard at all
my 4runner does 13.6L/100km and i punch it up boundary daily......

My Hyundai auto resets after a fill up. The computer states I am at 20L per 100km right after reset though.
If you are in Vancouver go to Destination Hyundai. Bought my Tucson there and had a great experience. Just have a hard line price and they will bend. Test drive and service was exceptional. The service department is managed very well as well.

Ahh that explains why when I test drove the new gen I thought the how the power comes on was really weird
transmission is better than the 1st gen but still not good IMO. Fun car though and one I would consider if I was looking for a larger car.

Terrible buying exp and they removed my review of them from their site. Lairs in the worst way, don't give to shits about customer service or doing their job and they like to try to blame the customer.
I have to say though I love how soo many people don't like them on RS and yet they sponser RS. Money always wins

My friend and I are actually planning to go test drive the Genesis Coupe tomorrow afternoon, hearing all these comments about Open Road, we'll definitely be avoiding there.
I test drove a 2012 2.0T a year ago and this was my biggest problem with it. I'm not sure if it is a programming issue (to save gas?!?!), but it was annoying enough that it turned me off from buying the car. I couldn't drive smoothly, or quickly because of the delay.
I was wondering if the new 2013 had that "rev hang" when shifting with the mt. Apparently it's to save gas and preserve the cat since their warranty was so long before.

Yeah, regardless of what the sales guy says, this is not normal for manual transmission cars, and really takes the joy out of shifting.
rev hang is actually quite common nowadays from what i've heard. heard issues with the civic si, evo x, etc. some people seem convinced that it helps you shift better when your revs hang..
but in any case the first gen does have a bit of rev hang. the second gen i took for a test drive was an auto ( ) so can't comment on that. with enough practice you can still shift "normally" though. the tranny on this car (at least on my first gen) is far from being the best, but with a short shift kit/tranny fluid/shifter bushings, i was able to make it a lot less clunkier and awkward than it once was. the car's still a blast to drive regardless of this so take it with a grain of salt Posted via RS Mobile

im having second thoughts....i went in to talk about pricing and what not. He said he can give me 500 msrp and give me a good deal on my trade in but for 38 grand i think i would be equally or more satisfied with slightly used vehicle of higher quality. None the less the car impressed the fuck out of me didnt expect something like that from hyundai.
