Went up again this morning, lots of people today was pretty busy. I think there was an event going on too?

From my 1:15 last week, I got 1:07 this week! Getting closer and closer to an hour I should really get the season ass though.

Did seek the peak this weekend
went for a casual walk w/ a co-worker from edmonton on Friday, as it his first time doing the grind.
he "casually" walked up in 40min, and I walked up in 55:09

Next day during the race, I did my leg (grouse grind) in 49:xx, the trail was a bit too crowded to really pass people. however, my friend from edmonton did it in 33:xx finishing 1st among all the team runners (out of 62).

Did it for the first time this past Sunday. I'm happy with my 44:40. Hopefully I can hit 40 in a month or so.

I havent done the grind in 4 years and I would have never guessed it has become such a popular thing. Its like the trendy thing to do now, all the girls at end instagraming that shit

Man anyone else annoyed by all the slow ppl? Not to be an asshole but seriously at least move out of the way if you know someones right behind and at a quicker pace

When do you all stop your timers?

I went last week for the first time in 5 years and got 1h8mins. I stated my timer at the bottom start sign to the top end sign, but saw most people stopping their timers around the rocky boulder area past the trees.

The best way to trim your time down (for PR) is to go at 6 or 7 in the morning when theres noone. I managed to cut almost 5-7 mins cuz there werent any ppl in the way

When I go Grouse Grind, I'm only here for one purpose. "Time Attack"
I go with my friends and usually end up ditching them behind, and I let them know ahead of time.

Always peeves me when I ask some of my athletic buddies what time they got,
and they say something like, "2 hrs, cause I took some girl"

Take them on a real hike if you want scenery. Who the hell takes 2 hrs,
and it's only creating a log jam for people that actually are timing themselves.

Weekly Grind

I'm aiming to do the grind once a week this season. My first trip up this year was July 30th at 1 hour and 27 minutes. I didn't have time to go up last week and will probably be doing a longer mountain hike this week in its place. Back to the grind next week and hopefully will be able to knock some minutes off!

Did anyone hear about that dude who did it 16 times in one day?! Grouse Grind Record Set at 16 Grinds in One Day! | Vancity Buzz | Vancouver Events, News, Food, Lifestyle and More

wow, lots of fit bastards in this thread. Didn't prepare at all for my first time up, didn't even bring water and wore casual street shoes. Did it in about 75 mins.
