You may want to think twice about choosing an amplifier based on advertised price and over-inflated power claims.


There is a reason why $56.99 cannot buy you 1200 watts. Also, the dead giveaway is the 25 amp fuse on the end of the amp.

Also, any amp can produce 1200 watts. Can it produce usable 1200 watts is another question.

A buddy has a Boss 5000 and he swears up and down it puts out a legit 5000 watts for the $168 he spent!! After showing him this video, he tossed his complete Boss system up for sale within under 12 hours. (2 boss 12" 4500 watt subs and amp)

I remember a buddy buying a "200W" amp from some big-box store's clearance rack... I pointed out to him how it only had a 10A power fuse, and how that meant even with 100% efficiency, it would be able to produce over 150W at 15V without blowing the fuse. He was quite livid - "What the hell, how can they claim it's 200W then?? The bastards!"
