taxi ghost cars

Found this photo on twitter. Hard to tell for sure if it was taken locally but the person who posted it is local. If that's the case, watch out people.

Kidnapman 06-11-2013 09:05 PM

That some scary shit son, gotta be on the look out all the time.

Verdasco 06-11-2013 09:07 PM

so... what do we watch out for?? I do not go in a taxi unless they are from india anyways..

4444 06-11-2013 09:29 PM

That's so greasy - I really have lost respect for these kind of tactics and the police that utilize them.

N's on trucks, random cars, now taxi's - total mini police state we live in

jeepwreck 06-11-2013 09:32 PM

aren't cabs usually bright colors like yellow or orange..

if you see a grey one.. slow down lol

FerrariEnzo 06-11-2013 09:35 PM

If the taxi doesnt have the taxi plate on, then you know something is fishy!!
Not to mention most taxis are Prius/Corolla... if you see a domestic taxi car.. haha theres your hint second hint

I came across a ghost car on the Coquihalla this past weekend that had a Budget Rental sticker on the back. Sneaky cops are sneaky.

I'm fine with cop cars posing as something else, though. After all, part of the point is to blend in, no?

Stealthy 06-11-2013 09:51 PM

Not much to worry about unless you drive recklessly

320icar 06-11-2013 10:23 PM

It's about goddamn time. I had this idea about 10 years so. Have it fully dressed up as a taxi, and the phone number on the side would be for the non emergency RCMP phone line. I'm a genus

Black steel wheels? Yes
No license plate frame? Yes

So you expect the police to keep operating on a faulty system forever? The most effective method of attack is not letting your enemy know where you will attack from. And what does it matter anyway, whether it's a marked car or not, you will be ticketed for a violation.

Simple stuff.

Lancerion 06-12-2013 12:30 AM

Plus, the insurance on 99% of the cars expires on Feb 28th, so you can also check the decals on the license plate next time if you are not sure.

yray 06-12-2013 12:40 AM

Seriously?? I was always under the impression that on-duty police were NOT allowed to advertise for private businesses as it's a HUGE conflict of interest, advertising includes stickers and license plate frames.

That's messed.

melloman 06-12-2013 07:15 AM

Shitty undercover cop..

It's still a Chevy Impala.. They just decided to put a TAXI thing up top.

The highway patrol has a White Astro Van with a roof cap. Now that thing blends in like no tomorrow, really who would think an Astro Van would be a undercover cop?! :fulloffuck:

Spoiler!

snails 06-12-2013 07:21 AM

our company dropped off 5-6 Hyundai's to Abbotsford police to be used for regular patrol ...

so pretty much just watch out for every car on the road.. if they drive a Hyundai you know they could be driving anything!
